Phoned up late yesterday afternoon for a table for two. As we had passed this pub many times when walking ‍ ‍ but it doesn't open until 6 pm. The food was excellent and so was service. Salad, chips, and veg arrived also. Would highly recommend.Food: 5/5
I've known this pub for many years but had recently been advised that the steaks were exceptional. And they are. Attended with friends, starters, 4 fillet steaks with sauce, 2 bottles of wine - £230 - exceptional value for money especially because the steaks really are superb. Choice of 6/8/10 oz fillet is welcome too. Over a decade ago this pubs famous coaching inn neighbour served the best steak I have eaten - until Friday night - that quality is back - perfectly cooked to each of our orders -blue, MR - all exactly as requested - with great flavour. Do not expect tablecloths and candles - this is still a pub - and all the better for it - it just happens to be an excellent steak restaurant too but don't expect to be in a high class restaurant environment - will be back if we can get in!

Not enough staff so was very disappointed with the amount of waiting around to get drinks/food. Got our food before our drinks after 40 minutes After almost 2 hrs we gave up on getting a desert and left. Felt sorry for the staff as this was not their fault there is just not enough of them to serve the amount of people coming through the door.
Good was as expected nice and plentiful for all of us. Poor table service had to chase for drinks and dessert,and no it wasn't particularly busy staff just bypast the table .Food: 4/5

Recently popped in for a pint. It was rather busy but managed to find a seat. The staff were pleasant even though they were running off their feet. Next time I am in the area, I’ll be having another pint, maybe some food.Service: 5/5
