I have lived in Woking as a kid and been to this place a few times. Now this place is spot on. Food was amazing, very warm welcome soon as we walked in. Greeted by Amie and chef kosta. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a large party of 13 people, food was amazing and didn't take too long at all. Had a nice chat with Jo and Joe about how long they have been here. All very friendly with the kids and brought out some treats for the kids. Can't wait to come back. Well worth the hour drive
Really lovely local pub with loads of parking. We went for lunch today for a family birthday. There were 14 of us and the owners very kindly reserved us a whole area of the pub which was like having our own private function room. The staff were so friendly and really welcoming and as for the food- it was brilliant! Great pub grub, huge portions and simply amazing value for for money. It’s dog friendly too so we loved meeting Chase and all of the other lovely doggies there today. We will definitely return and would highly recommend you give it a try. Thanks to all of the staff for a wonderful day, very much appreciated.
We had a great night at The Surrey on Friday. Went for dinner and had a few drinks. The food was amazing and very good value. The drinks are also great value and they have a good selection of beers and gin! Liv and Sabina looked after us really well and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a great place with a good atmosphere and one of the best pubs we’ve visited in a long while. Looking forward to our next night there!
I love their food, we ordered a platternachos, chicken strips, onion rings, chicken wings and breaded mushrooms and 2 MIX GRILL wow so delicious, cold drink, great atmosphere and the staff so friendly. 100 Pct recommend
Rarely visit despite being local. Decades of bad management/dodgy clientele. Popped in tonight for a quick dinner. Lovely bar lady. Nice and very cheap steak. Outstanding service and friendliness from Sabine. Wouldn’t normally post but if she worked in my industry I would poach her credit where credits due. Too many overrated, expensive restaurants in this area with zero customer service. Will be back.
Food is great value for money and well cooked, but would like it served on a conventional plate rather than the two separate dishes on a board. Sabina is a fantastic waitress and is a credit to the pub, she is extremely friendly and very hard working. Car park could do with some pothole repairs especially when entering from the road. Overall a pleasant few hours out.
Needed a table for 11 same day at short notice. Very accommodating. Great service especially considering so many of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. Friendly atmosphere. Great evening all round.
We popped in for coffee to warm up after a freezing cold visit to the nearby crematorium, so can't comment on the food. The coffee was lovely, the staff warm and welcoming and it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our first visit but won't be our last.
Waited 50 minutes for our food, which was disappointing when it arrived. Burger buns inedibly solid, very little salad given as a side and a whole meal missed off an order, cited as a ‘miscommunication’ from the server. Staff seemed unhappy to help and could only suggest the missing meal was ordered from scratch which was unappealing as an option given the near-hour we had already waited. Free dessert was offered but quite frankly I couldn’t be bothered to wait. In short, food was underwhelming if/when it eventually turned up and staff were unhelpful.
Incredible value for money especially if you are looking quantity. The pub has been fully refurbished they have done a great job. I tried the burger challenge which is a mistake overall as a food experience. But it was good to try to see what appeals to people. The burger was actually not bad at all it is shame the meat was too dry and was lacking of juice. But considering it is an outrageous burger more than tasty burger. It is well above pub burger average. And for the price you pay I think it is great. Double check your bill though we were charged twice for an item you consumed only once and that is a precious tip.
