Pub of the year for a reason. A proper country pub with honest fare and a selection of beers. Recommended.

Nice looking traditional pub with good choice of beers. However, many of the glasses were not clean. Even worse was the fact that there was only one person serving and she was missing for quite a while and extremely slow once she appeared. I almost walked as the wait was so long. It was quite quiet so it would be awful at a busy time.

Came for dinner on Thursday night with three others. I had paella which was gorgeous. Plenty of meat and prawns and served in a skillet which looked great and kept the food hot. Portion size was very generous which suited me. I've eaten here before and can't recommend the pizzas enough. Their roasts are great too, the meat clearly freshly cooked and the vegetables were crunchy and flavoursome, which is much more than can often be said for a pub roast. Friendly and knowledgable staff, amazing beer selection and the whole restaurant area smelled great because of the open kitchen. Came to the beer festival in the summer too, vast selection of beers and cider with live music. Easily one of my favourite pubs.

Good food, service was a little slow and had to ask a few times for condiments to accompany our meal.
