Classic British pub, nothing fancy but with character and good vibes. The food was delicious and affordable, the right choice for someone looking for something nice and within budget.

Brought a friend from out of town because i heard the Band were good. Arrived an hour after the band started to find them on a break. Ordered drink anyway and barmaid  might be Landlady? came across as rude  for no reason  Wheelchair accessibility: Several steep steps up to the entrance

Great pub serving tasty, reasonably priced food. I occasionally get lunch here with colleagues and can highly recommend their hot roast beef sandwiches. Staff are friendly.Food: 5/5

This is an old school pub in the traditional mould. It's nice to get a break from themed bars, but I fear this type of pub is less and less common. It's very friendly and their pub goers are chatty and low key, with quite a community feel to it. It's clean and well kept, The gents are tidy, but up some pretty steep stairs. The Google photo is wrong btw

We enjoyed a delicious roast here this afternoon, plenty of it, and reasonably priced. Staff were very welcoming. We watched most of France Poland match while eating. Definitely worth a visit.

A proper pub. Warm & friendly, serving absolutely the best home cooked Sunday lunch ever for a very reasonable £13.95. Will definitely be back there.

Definitely reccomend.   Staff are friendly and welcoming.   I have stayed here for work in area on a few occasions and I'm very happy with all they do.  Rooms are clean tidy and well maintained.   Management are loverly.   I will always use the Sun when I'm in the area.   Excellent for sports and lots of choice.  Live bands at weekends.     Job well done

Godalming and its surrounds has many pleasant pubs and was just a case of eventually coming around to venture into here for sake of balance. On initial entry, was tired, smelt bad and very unwelcoming looks. Dreary selection of drinks but made the best. Within a few minutes, was a lot of bad language and unpleasantness noted from a customer. Shockingly, when seeing others reactions, it turns out it was the landlord! What a thoroughly unpleasant character, insulting and swearing at all and sundry. Really couldn't believe it. To be that drunk and unpleasant at your own hostelry. Was like an episode of Shameless. Avoid at all costs!
