Looking for a traditional roast lunch that rings of home-cooking and a family-run local pub feel, then this is the pub for you. Book ahead for the Sunday Roast. Inside is as warm and welcoming as the service, whilst retaining an authentic old pub feel. Smashing.
A lovely spot with charming and friendly staff, who couldn’t have been more helpful.nnWe had absolutely fantastic meal, with very traditional British food.nI had 1/2 pt of prawns, followed by lambs liver with bubble and squeak, and for dessert, syrup suet pudding with custard, all truly delicious, and reminiscent of child hood.nnThe space was pleasant with ample space and they were very welcoming of our baby and pram.
A good selection of ales.nVery big selection of food.nHad a pint and a sausage roll.nPint very well presented.nSausage roll, sausage!!! I think there was half a pig in that. I was full after it.nPlenty of reservations so must be very popular for dinner.
A small busy pub with a nice vibe to the place. Also had a good selection of ales which seem to be kept very well. We also stayed for a meal. This was mixed bag. Let’s start with the good. The special they had on was very tasty slow cooked beef blade and the slow cooked pork belly was melt in the mouth. Unfortunately the steak was real disappointment. We Asked for medium but it came very well done and was chewy. Just a bad steak. The fish stew was nice but came out almost cold.
Popped in for a cheeky pizza. Proper woodfired oven.nnWe had the belly pork+apple, king prawn+nduja and the squash, fig, halloumi and honey as the vegi option.nnAll cracking flavours, great hand made dough and cooked to perfection.nnAll washed down with a couple of ales and some friendly service from bar staff and the chefs.nnWill defo return
