Price is a wee bit steep for a castle that's pretty small. Loved the audio tour and the castle walk but you can do that in 45 minutes and there's not much else to do. Nice to walk in the footsteps of history and get some fresh air and scenic views.
Really friendly staff on site, we are members who have recently signed up to English heritage few ago but haven't received anything via post. Staff were very good and especially the museum steward with our autistic and ADHD kids. Absolutely lovely place to visit and well worth the travel. Very informative and such amazing scenery
Beautiful castle & town. Great for half a day visit. The history was really interesting and we enjoyed the audio tour. Very dog friendly; you are permitted to take your dog everywhere apart from the cafe till point; so that was a bonus. The only requirement is that dogs are kept on a short leash.
Framlingham Castle is a must visit if you are in Suffolk - a fantastic family half-day trip out.nnIt is picturesque and has some amazing views from the battlements. There are great and different activities put on throughout the summer months, principally aimed at children. There is also an interesting story about the history of the castle.nnThere is a nice cafe, small shop and toilets inside, all of which are well maintained. It’s ideal for a family picnic; it has plenty of seating and space both inside and outside. The staff are also really nice.nnThe is parking adjacent to the castle and it’s rarely too busy. The quaint town centre is also on a 5 min walk down the hill.nnThe only reason I gave it four stars is that Framlingham Castle isn’t the biggest; the museum element is not a few small rooms.
Thoroughly recommend a visit to EH Framlingham Castle if your in the area. We went midweek and parking was very easy It’s right outside. The castle itself is very impressive..a walk around the battlements gives a great idea of scale and some lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Some nice exhibitions as well. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Great day out.
