Excellent Lodge, lovely peaceful location. Good location for exploring Suffolk.

After a recent stay in Framingham I can certainly recommend The Crown for coffee, cake, drinks and delicious brunch options. I did not stay as a guest. The young staff are a real credit to the hotel they have obviously received good training and are all really lovely and polite. The coffee for my taste is excellent and served in large cups. There is a delightful courtyard, a great sun trap in the mornings. My only small suggestion on improvement would be the introduction of table service and removing ashtrays from the courtyard during the day. Replace in the evenings for social smokers. If you are elderly or indeed travelling solo having to go to the bar if you fancy another coffee or drink is annoying. You have to take your bag and dog and risk coming back to your table being taken. A mention to the cleaners who keep the communal areas and loos spotless.
A simply lovely hotel, restaurant & food with fantastic staff who all together make the total experience so very friendly/welcoming. The wedding function room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the historic hotel feeling + the added festive twinkly lights subtle ambience. Can’t wait to come back!
This is a curious place. The building, due to its age, is a rabbit warren of small rooms and bars, all of which are comfortable. A varied, if slightly overpriced, food menu is available with lots of choice on the drinks front too. Good quality ale Wadsworth's 6X, good wines and an excellent alcohol free cider Thatcher's for the designated driver me, in this case. There is also a table full of games including Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit plus many others for those that fancy a bit of a challenge.
Lovely interesting building, plesant staff.nFelt the hotel was over priced due to bare minimum breakfast. No cereal, fruit or continental. First time we have experienced this.
Lovely old coaching inn built in 1553. Central, good food and friendly staff. Would highly recommend if visiting Framlingham.
