Lovely Pub to come and drink in with comfortable and varied seating. I know there is food and accommodation here, but these are Services I haven't used. Very casual and laid back atmosphere.

The heating in the room was not turned on when we arrived and the duvet was inadequate for the near zero temperatures outside when we stayed at the hotel. No extra blanket in the room. The central heating was not turned on at all so heated towel rail did not work. Only advised that wall mounted radiators were heated electrically the next morning; can't think why these were not turned on when we arrived. The whole hotel was pretty cold. Receptionist had a cold too; not surprising I suppose.

Consistently good food. Service could be better at times (only patchy when they're very busy) but mostly pretty good

Lovely historic interior. Varied menu. Good quality generous portions delivered in reasonable time on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Fairly attentive staff. Not the cheapest food but good value all the same. Perfect after a romp around the Castle.

Pretty sure it's mainly a haunt of organised crime these days.. Sad, used to be a great hotel..
