Pretty good for an old hotel though some signs of aging.nnRoom very good, service good, buffet breakfast although plentiful, not quite hot enough at 9.00 am.nnOverall good value.nnP.Heys
The rooms was nice but the kitchen staff really ruined it they only had a handful of guests and couldn't even manage to keep breakfast count full and then catering manager then went on the slag of customers which we heard and confronted her which she went onto use a poor excuse of someone calling in sick but if you can't keep a room of 20 people with breakfast you need to change your job
Mix category,nPOSITIVE:n-Location perfect straight in the middle of city center. Plenty of shops, restaurants and barsn-It has its own quite big free car parking.n-Reception staff very friendly and professional.n-Clean and budget friendly.nNow negativity:n- Very old furnituren- Walls very thin, can hear every argument next door havingn-Old windows, not soundproof, hearing every car passing by next to very busy roadn-Mondays, next to hotel Cathedral having trainings so bell ringing from 17:00 till 20:00 , due to windows not soundproof quite annoying.nnVerdict: if need good sleep then don’t book as due to thin walls and not insulated windows it’s very noisy. Also due to quite cheap price all sort of trouble maker staying there.
Although a little tired I enjoyed my stay at St James hotel. The rooms where clean. The bed was comfortable and a bonus, there was a bath. The breakfast was delicious and there was an excellent selection of food. We will definitely stay here again.
Great value, hotel friendly, and helpful staff Good location for local shops good sized car park too
