Huge venue, apparently capable of holding around 14000, my latest visit was to see London Grammar although I have also been here before to see George Ezra and Peter Gabriel. I don’t whether it’s down to artists money grabbing or partly down to venue fees etc, but I do find that many of the gigs here can be extortionately priced to the point where I would just not pay the asking price. London Grammar prices were decent compared to the recent others that I have seen. As for the venue itself, it’s reasonably accessible, I parked just under a mile away for free and walked there. I more or less walked straight in without queuing and only had a short security check before gaining entry. I didn’t buy any food or drink inside so can’t comment on that. Toilets I went to weren’t too busy and clean enough. At the end of the concert the venue cleared pretty quickly although even though I was parked a good bit away still got held up for some time with traffic leaving the area.
Been here a few times over the years and it’s a great venue. Never seems to be much hassle getting either in or out. Once in, there’s tonnes of drink places so the queues are never too bad. Expensive at £7-£8 a pint but you’ve really got to expect that at these places.
Went along to see Texas perform and they were excellent. Was lucky enough to score some Hydro Club tickets which gave a few benefits. Parking right outside the arena but it needs much better signage to show people where it's located. Had dinner in their restaurant and ordered a pizza which cost around £17 which seems expensive to me but we were hungry. The view from our seats was excellent & the acoustics meant you could hear every word of the concert, which is the whole point.
Fab experience. We went to see Alice Cooper and found the staff all friendly and helpfull. There was somebody in every seating area to help with finding your location. Toilets were very clean plenty of food and drink to purchase, and merchandise shops as well. Would not hesitate to book tickets here again.
A good place for concerts and shows. Got to be the standing area for atmosphere. Obviously, any gig, there's big queues , that's to be expected. Staff on the doors are always polite and able to have a wee joke with them. Plenty bars card payments only ,I think, drinks are a wee bit expensive. But your on a night out ... it is what it is these days. If it's too expensive, bring your own‍. Sound and acoustics are always brilliant and always good atmosphere with a Scottish crowd. which I thought for years was just artists and bands giving us patter....but been to gigs in England, France and USA....and Scottish crowds are 100% THE BEST for a party . Last gig was Texas with KT Turnstall supporting. Absolutely superb.
It's a great place for concert, going out with friends or family. The place offers to buy food & drinks. The food includes pizzas, chicken burgers, chips, and Loaded Fries Drinks are alcoholic or non-alcoholic. The bottle of water is not permitted, and security guards will not be allowed to take it inside. We definitely will come back for another concert here as everything was great
Fantastic venue, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Nice clean venue wheelchair accessible toilets were extremely good, more than enough room for my extra wide wheelchair. Lots nice wee places to get food no massive queues to wait in, ample staff to cover the crowd, big bonus was security checks, given the events at some concerts it put me greatly at ease seeing the security checks being done.
Great accessible access. Offer a carer ticket free with a full ticket price disabled person. Really helpful staff and very organised and orderly entry procedure. Good food/drink/merchandise concessions. Gave out free water regularly during the gig and staff went above and beyond to ensure and enjoyable and memorable event for all
Alcohol, food and general prices all overly priced. Venue itself is excellent, but not the over priced service for lager like Madri, Bavaria and cheap wines. Reusable sustainability cups. Yes work, however, having a lid on top would be more beneficial as the cleaning bill with spillages must be phenomenal. I know I was stuck to the floor where I was sat at the Texas concert.
What a fantastic place to see a show. There is parking across the road in the Council multi-story car park, £12 per day correct as of September 2024. It is better to pre buy your ticket if you are going up into the town for something to eat pre show, that way you can drive straight out without waiting in the queues to pay. To get to the Ovo, you have to exit at ground level, then use the pedestrian crossings, or there is an upper walkway over the main road. Everyone was metal detected and searched. We were allowed to bring in our own sweets. Once inside the Ovo, there were booths that served food and drinks and a booth/ cloakroom. The prices were very expensive, £3 for a bottle of water correct as of September 2024, which was served to you in a plastic cup. Along the walls there are section numbers so very easy to find your seat up the next level, there is a lift for those that can't manage stairs or esculator, it's straight through on ground level to the standing area. We were in section 235, row N seats 351 & 352, which gave us a great view of the arena and the stage. The seats were ok, plenty of room and high enough to look over the person in front. The sound system, lighting, and stage props were great. The staff were polite and well presented. Toilets on the seating level were clean and tidy. Although there were over 14000 people watching the show, we managed to get out within 15 minutes.
