Attended my first gig at this lovely location last night. My mobility and capacity has been in decline the past couple of years but I still love live music. The staff and services provided last night not only made that possible but an absolute pleasure. Was sat in a comfortable area near the sound desk alongside my partner thanks to the companion ticket which provided shelter but didn't shield me from a wonderful view of the stage or the energy from the crowd. Early entry and escort was provided so wouldn't get rushed or overwhelmed on the stairs. Just absolute star studded team and venue Special thanks to Richard who sorted that & checked on us throughout the night
It’s been a long while since I was last in here and it’s a bit different from what I remember. The bar area is lovely, great framed posters on the walls and great music on the playlist. Music venue is smaller than I remember but the sound was great and the atmosphere was spot on.Service: 5/5
Went for the MOTHICA gig this week and had an absolute blast from the get go. Security and staff were incredible and super helpful when it came to organising accessible seating for myself and my partner. Said accessible seating is on a raised platform behind a short wall, meaning we got a clear view of the stage. Staff also made sure that the stairs to the platform were always clear so movement to the bar and the stairs out wasn’t too difficult. Would love to come back Wheelchair accessibility: Non existent unfortunately
Went to watch my nephew's bank play. They were headlining! Bar staff lovely. Felt great being in a place where so many famous people have played. Back downstairs and someone was playing on the piano. Fabulous night!Service: 5/5
Love this venue still - first came here in 1999 - nice cosy intimate gig area : seems a bit smaller and cramped now than what I recall it looking like in the late 90s. The gig I went to see was Phoebe Green and ARXX on Sunday night: great performances and very friendly, respectful and enthusiastic audience that night but it's not always like this : on some nights people who have had a few drinks, they try and push their way into spaces where there aren't any. That's just a crowd thing depending on the bands but it can be annoying.
Great first time being in King Tut's. Staff were nice. The security staff were amazing. Very friendly. Helping me up and down the stairs and holding my crutches. And making sure that i had a seat. Thank you so much xxxService: 5/5
Best gig I've ever been too. Staff are lovely and the vibe is absolutely to die for! The pyrotechnics are amazing for such a small venue and shout out to the crew who did such an amazing job for the Mothica gig. 100% be coming back here for shows !!!Food: 4/5
Here for Isaac Gracie gig, venue is perhaps a little on the small side but it is intimate, and concerts do tend to be very much on the cheaper side. Not tonight but I have been here in the past and the event was ruined by folks talking in the bar. Booze at the bar is a tad on the pricey side. And again tonight to see Lo Moon, as I’ve said it’s intimate, so much so two of main act band members were standing next to me watching part of the support act. Parking: Lots of free street parking after 6pm. I parked about 50 metres from the front door.
Iconic, intimate basement venue with a rich history in promoting new talent. One of the few places to see a band now and not spend an absolute fortune. I was lucky to witness the talents of Sam Ness and it was incredible. Bar prices are on the steep side and it doesn’t have step free access but inside its cosy and filled with fantastic old mementos of bands that have graced its stage: oasis, biffy clyro, you me at six, libertines etc Best music venue in Glasgow? It’s a strong contender for sure. Only the Barras can compete with the King
We came for the first time mid-February 2023 to see The Dollyrots & Don't Panic supported by The Royals. Venue is pretty close to the M8 motorway & parking, with plenty public transport links nearby. House pizza is superb, sold by the slice. Recommend one slice for a snack, two for closer to a meal. House lager is made by Brewgooder and is DIVINE. Bar music is pop/punk & punk/rock. Would be a good place for a couple beers both during the week and at the weekend. Although it wasn't needed as we were there for opening, reserving a table at the bar for drinks & food was so easy to do via email. Venue upstairs is intimate, but plenty room with a small cloakroom behind the bar and space for merch. There's a small range of seating in the upstairs venue, with accessibility seating available upon request - This is on a raised platform so you can see over the standing crowd. Earplugs are also available at the bar. Absolutely would go again, was able to meet the bands, natter away with them and made it out with our merch, one of The Dollyrots set lists and various plectrums from the performing bands. A fantastic night.
