Stopped off here with the hubby to be as we fancied a carvery .. this is the second pub in the Stonehouse chain that we've tried and the second time we've been disappointed with the carvery. The service was shocking my other half got overlooked twice by the staff who seemed to serve regulars first. We asked for ice in our drinks to be told there was no ice .. when we asked why we were told the ice machine had been broken for month!!! I got a diet coke the hubby to be got a lemonade both were flat so we exchanged for j2os. The roasties were over done the meats were dry the pigs in blankets were burnt the green beans were rubber and over cooked. Safe to say we're in no rush to try another Stonehouse pub. The only saving grace is that when we complained to Angel she was very apologetic and offered a refund. On this alone we will consider returning but perhaps next time we'll pick off the menu.
Superb!!!! The food is exceptionally good. As a vegetarian I often suffer bland food with little choice. This menu is packed with options for me, and the carvery veg I added were all top quality, hot and delicious. Left absolutely stuffed, will definitely return. Good service and price, thank you.
We came in for food and decided on the reasonably priced 3 course set menu, and ordered our dishes at the bar. We also ordered 2 diet cokes. We were not informed of any wait at all, it also didn’t appear particularly busy. We sat down and after 35 minutes of waiting asked how long our starters would be. The lady checked on them and said not long and your pizza will only be 5 minutes now. We didn’t particularly want the food coming out together as it was ordered as a 3 course set menu, yet we said thank you and waited. Soon after 2 starters came out they were not what we ordered so she took them back. We were then informed that we couldn’t have pizzas as they had ran out of dough, even tho we were informed they would be with us in 5 minutes. So it took them 40 minutes to inform our mains that we ordered were not in stock even though we were told they would be with us in 5 minutes. We decided we didn’t want the food due to coming specifically for pizzas and having to wait so long before even getting our correct starters, we were told we would be refunded our food and drinks as an apology for the inconvenience. We go up to the bar to sort the refund with another 2 ladies who didn’t know how to use the till system and was stood there for a further 10-15 minutes trying to get the refund. We were told we will not be refunded for our drinks, so I said we were told we would get them refunded as the bad experience we had which in the end was refunded. Long story short we wasted an hour of our time gained nothing and were left hungry. Staff weren’t particularly apologetic or bothered.
We arrived as a family of 4 and 2 children. The member of staff who greeted us was very welcoming and arranged a table for us. The meal was excellent, plenty of meat, roast potatoes and vegetables which were hot and cooked perfectly. We had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the little ones were made to feel very welcome especially the lovely staff member who very kindly gave my granddaughter some money to play on one of the grab machines. Thank you so much to all the staff for an enjoyable evening.
The wait time for the food was borderline so we will let that go and start with the young waitress who, when asked if she could top up the carvery sauces replied with "sorry, I am not on shift love"! This is despite being stood in her work uniform near the sauce station. No offer of getting anyone else to do it either. Whilst we were then sat eating our meals the same girl came and sat at the table practically joint to ours and clearly still in her work uniform then wonders why she gets approached after shiftTwo other members of staff who I presume were on shift then came over and all 3 had a good old gossip about things. We were literally sat 2 feet away and they made no attempt to be quiet or to have any consideration for us. Not sure I need to know a full conversation about why a member of staff isn't coming in because they said they feel bullied and that the 3 of them couldn't care!! We sat at table number 23 and the staff were just casually chatting at the next table. We decided to leave early and walked past all 3 without even being asked if everything was ok or being thanked for coming. The one exception was the lady behind the bar, Jess I think. Very friendly and very polite. Granted I wasn't expecting the Ritz but good customer satisfaction and customer awareness is possible at any level. Maybe get your maintenance team in to change a few lights bulbs as well.
Daughter has a gluten intolerance. When the staff were informed it was handled by the book. Very good service. Great food, great portions, good price. Would recommend...
Went here for my birthday a few weeks ago. Lovely staff especially Nicky. Always going out of her way to make sure everything was up to standards. Always talking to customers of all ages. Lovely friendly smile. Will definitely return Thank you Nicky
We arrived as a group of 15 adults, after booking with short notice. Nicky showed us to our table and was so helpful throughout the meal, going over and above to make sure we were happy. Nicky served us throughout and kept returning to keep us updated and make sure we were all happy. I can't sing her praises enough, the woman deserves a medal for seeing to our every need and there were many!. Also, as we were a diverse group with varied needs, Nicky made everything accessible and inclusive for all of the group. I'll be sure to return and recommend the Squirrel to my friends and family. Nicky made it a wonderful day and we can't thank her enough!
Came here for tea after work, Tony was so helpful he explained that we could download the app and receive 50% off our meal, he went through it all with me and helped me, there was another lady working with Tony who was very helpful sorry I didn't get your name you are both an asset to the company, nothing was too much trouble for them and we really did receive a warm friendly welcome. The carvery was the nicest we’ve had in a while and we will definitely be back thank you
Service was prompt and courteous, we went in for the breakfast buffet and thoroughly enjoyed it. stuff Wetherspoons, I would come here for a breakfast anytime because I can choose WHAT I LIKE and WHAT I LIKE was cooked perfectly. Well done. My tummy loves you
