Now that there are so many good modern shopping centres in the centre of Birmingham this place feels a little dated.

It's is a very old fashioned retail square nothing special but nothing wrong. It does feature a beautiful, quite odd, grassy centre piece with table and bench combo to enjoy lunch on a sunny day.

The Square Shopping Centre has been around for as long as I known Birmingham City Centre. It is a reminder of the days when Brutalistic forms were at the fore of architects minds. It is beautiful, but you have to live it in The Square, to feel it. Shop around to find the sound as a pound cheap bits for the home. Oasis, the largest store to sprawl The Square, has everything a bohemian could wish for. I like what they've done with the outdoor space. Coffee Time coffee shop is at its centre. When the sun is out, it's a hive of deck chairs. I love The Square. It just needs a good demolition team to see to the beginning of it's rebirth. When that fateful day does come (and it's been a long time coming), I will be saddened.
