The restaurant never lets me down! We’ve been coming here for over 10 years and the food is always absolutely impeccable. Service wasn’t as good as it used to be, there used to be an older gentleman who would always take the time to learn what you like and recommend dishes and wine. Now it’s just a few young girls, who don’t really know much. But the food is always faultless!!
Excellent service. Good selection of red and white wine. Michelin grade food. Only tasting menu available at the moment. However it is a tasting menu you can select from a number of courses. Quality of food is way above normal restaurants.
Booked in September to ensure I could have the date I wanted. I am not sure whether it was really necessary but I was conscious how busy the Sportsman can be. The team were really friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent. The food was delicious just a small selection of photos - regretfully I had started some of the other dishes before I realised I had not taken a picture. The Oysters were absolutely wonderful and would have happily eaten many more.
It was one of the best meals we had in ages! Lots of choices with truffle like risotto- was amazing Great customer service too. Wine selection was extensive and the waiters were happy to recommend. Even though it is on the road, it’s not a very busy one and the views are of a countryside.
We didn't eat there brother-in-law and sister in law did and loved the taster menu. We parked up on a Sunday afternoon by the Sportsman's to walk along the beach while the tide was out. Stunning coast. Well worth a walk in the area and, if you're lucky, book a meal at the Sportsman's.
We dined here in August 2022 and both thought that the food was amazing. We were surprised with the decor but it was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - would definitely like to experience this again. Definitely 5 stars from us. Well Done.
Been here a few times. The food never disappoints. One Michelin star and great location. Always give yourself some time to walk along the water front.
What an incredible dining experience. Each dish we had was worth it’s Michelin star, I think if I had to choose a favourite it would have been the truffle pasta, have been dreaming about it for days.
Superb food as usual at this unpretentious pub. Spent a couple of hours enjoying our selections from the tasting menu. I'm no gourmand and generally like things simple, but this was a real treat. You are constantly wondering "What will the next dish be, and how will it top this one!?" No bar service at the moment, but drinks are available with your meal. Booking a few months ahead is wise, to avoid disappointment. £77 per person, which may seem pricey, but the quality is so high that this is actually good value. Absolutely I will be going back later in the year.
Amazing! From the moment we walked in the hospitality was perfect and the attention to detail was second to none. The food was impeccable and delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience and without an ounce of pretentiousness.Recommended dishesSourdough Bread, Slip Sole with Smoked Salt Butter, Bread Service, Bramley Apple Soufflé, Amuse Bouches, Homemade Bread Home-Churned Butter, Terrine
