I have to disagree with some of the comments below. I thought the team at the smethick branch were fantastic! The receptionist does usually ring to confirm an appointment which she did with me. Also I was contacted regarding collecting my glasses and they couldn’t do enough for me.  I took an hour of their time trying to choose the right frames and they were so patient with me.  As for rudeness I don’t know what people are talking about. Nothing but polite friendly staff in my personal experience. Keep up the good work guys!

Where to begin, the glasses that I got from The Spectacle Store in Smethwick broke numerous times forcing me to make multiple journeys to fix them. If that wasn't bad enough, I brought my mother-in-law along with me to the same opticians as she wanted to get her eyes checked and get new glasses if needed. The appointment was made and as my mother-in-law was making a note in her phone the lady said there's no need as she'd make a note on paper as you do. Bearing in mind my mother-in-law has a disability and it's not easy for her to travel up their stairs she still thought she'd go to this opticians. 
Usually when a company books an appointment with a client the client would get an email or phone-call prior to the appointed time to confirm whether or not you'd be able to attend your appointment (that's the general protocol) so if any changes are made then the company can fill any free appointments. 
My mother-in-law couldn't find the paper with the appointment time but was reassured that the lady would call to confirm the booking which she never did. The lady from The Spectacle Store in fact called after the appointment time had past stating that "...You have wasted my time!" Then hung up the phone. 
After this event when I got my glasses fixed I approached the lady inside the spectacle store asking if she knew who called my mother-in-law, I explained the situation at hand as I felt the way the lady over the phone spoke was unpleasant and outright rude. Coincidentally this was the SAME woman. She didn't apologise about the event but she maintained a negative tone of voice and stated that my mother-in-law was "wasting her time and costing her money." 
I am absolutely appalled of the service The Spectacle Store delivered and I'd advise any one else to avoid there at all cost. There are plenty of other opticians that will treat their clients better and you'd get better quality glasses elsewhere.

I was an eye witness to the service from the Lady of The Spectacle Store.

Like what's been said, usually when a company books an appointment with a client the client would get an email or phone-call prior to the appointed time to confirm whether or not you'd be able to attend your appointment (that's the general protocol) so if any changes are made then the company can fill any free appointments. 

If someone cannot find the paper with their appointment time for whatever resson whoever booked the appointment (i.e the lady) should have called to confirm the booking which she never did. As opposed to calling after the appointed time in a rude manner stating "...You have wasted my time!" Then abruptly hanging up the phone. 

You cannot speak to clients or potential clients in a negative manner and then not acknowledge when you're wrong with your approach. - I saw and spoke to the lady, she was unapologetic when confronted and acted standoffish. 

I am very appalled of the service The Spectacle Store delivered and I'd advise anyone to go elsewhere when there are plenty of other opticians that will treat their clients better and you'd get better quality glasses ELSEWHERE.
