Veggie burger and the choc torte tasted very average but the soup of the day was tasty. I also found the service was slow. However the interior is great though. 3 course menu for £17.95.
Really good food. I have had the honey glazed ham twice and it did not disappoint. Everyone in our party of 6 was hugely impressed by the food and drink. A nice pub feel downstairs and a large dining area upstairs. It is somewhere I never hesitate to recommend. Some great BBQ s and beer festivals in the summer too!
Been here on many occasions! Great pub with great food & great staff! Restaurant upstairs if you want more of a dining experience! Again beautiful food with a great variety of dishes to choose from! Never had a bad meal here! Staff are all very accommodating creating a very smooth and pleasant service! Sometimes slower when busy, but as to be expected when there's a full restaurant upstairs and bar downstairs! They always have lots of events on which are ALL very good and can be found on their website or Facebook page! All in all great food and drink with lovely staff! Would highly recommend to all !
Had my wife's baby shower here. Very helpful and they ordered in the menu we wanted especially for us. The downstairs back room was perfect and a very very reasonable price. Would definitely go again, highly recommended for your function or a lunch / dinner with a group.
Terrible experience. Had been previously and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and one of our favourite places to eat. However we went as a family in May 2016 and were extremely disappointed. Stood at the bar waiting to be served and were totally ignored by the staff. Went to our table and we were informed as we ordered that there was a 20 minute wait, there was no apology, not even a smile off the waitress, the restaurant was not even half full. This was at 8 o clock. While we waited we saw another couple leave and others looking more disappointed, but we thought we would wait. By 9 o clock we were still waiting for our starter, we tried to alert a member of staff, but were totally ignored. Eventually at about 10 o clock, we gave up, told staff we weren't waiting and went home to enjoy a takeaway! Asked if it was under new management and of course she said it was, and you can tell! We Will not be returning.
The service at the bar downstairs was a bit slow and when we sat down we waited a while for menu's but after that the service was good and the food was delightful. Rare steak turned up more like medium rare but still tasted great. Possibly the best peppercorn sauce we've ever had with a steak. 4/5.
I had a fabulous time here, my dog, Holly and I were welcomed with smiles from the moment we entered. My food was prompt and very tasty, no faults! Holly had fresh salmon chunks for her meal and the manager brought her two large carrots to munch through. A very dog friendly pub and the staff love a fuss! With the dog highly recommendable!
Great food ! , But the finer touches were lacking, in Customer service. Saturday eve, the place lacked atmosphere, by 7.15 one of the two open fires in the bar area was almost out! there were other diners but very few all eve. The back-ground music was loud . Two out of 3 of the real fires in the bar area were lit but both were dying and in need of attention and fuel of which there was none ,making it cold In the bar where we chose to have our after dinner drinks. Instead of cosy like it was cold .,we wore our coats. The staff were All very young and lacked experience of their tasks. The central heating we noticed had gone off while we were dining, and it was still only early evening and it's an extensive open plan dining area, ours being a window table we were cold! The whole place lacked the attention to detail of a good landlord. Toilets were clean but without toilet paper ! Laminated Menus were greasy and it showed, the Menu was lacking other choices other than steak . Disappointing lack of customer service and staff personality letting the chef down.
Amazing. Fillet steak on the rocks cook it yourself . Omg sooooooo good, with blue cheese sauce.
A good experience, the food tasted very fresh and was delicious I had the lamb steak which was finished perfectly and jam packed with flavour, my son had the same too and he loved it. Nice atmosphere nice pub and friendly staff make this a good choice for any meal out.
