Had a lovely meal with my family tonight. Very friendly staff. Food was fresh, red hot and very tasty. Two of us had the homemade steak pudding and it was very tasty with lovely gravy. We ordered off the tennerfest every main £10 menu and the portion sizes are very generous. Definitely going again. Highly recommend.
Visited this evening as a party of ten. We all had a variety of different food and it was all excellent. The fish pie was delicious. Great service Freddie really looked after us all. Would highly recommend. Great local place.
We visited The Hospital Inn last night after seeing such great reviews and we were not disappointed! Lovely staff, great atmosphere and great food! You could tell it was all freshly made with quality ingredients, and the portions were massive Highly recommend, the perfect place for a few drinks and nibbles or a huge meal, we’re looking forward to coming back already
Id just like to say the last review is just not right other than the food being excellent!!! The place was heaving with a long wait for food due to how busy it was! There was a baby shower going on and the restaurant was full! The staff were rushed off their feet and still had a smile on their face and welcoming! If people are clearly busy just go to the bar and ask for assistance don’t leave a pointless and untrue review and not vocalise it to the management. Speak up so that it can be put right! My food was great and as always treated brilliantly and just waited until they had a minute to clear plates and glasses etc. Well done all at the Hospital Inn on a very very busy day!!!
Having been to the hospital inn on server Al occasions and had a good meal, Wife and I went here this afternoon for a Sunday dinner. I must admit, looking at some other reviews I’m a little envious looking at what they were served as ours looked nothing like it. I ordered Lamb, she ordered the mixed meat. The food came quickly and starting with the lamb… I had to send it back to the kitchen as it tasted like beef… I then realised that despite the kitchen advising it was lamb, my plate appeared to have a mixed bag of sliced brown meat on it beef and lamb I assume. If it was Lamb, poor sod must have been fed potato peelings all its life because it was tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding was a sorry looking thing, hard and dense on the edges, barely risen and a doughy base. The roast potato looked like it had been boiled/steamed and roasted for all of 3 minutes. The Veg came in a small dish separately and was swimming in cauliflower cheese sauce.. which had the consistency of water. All in all, probably the worst Sunday dinner I’ve eaten.. could have been better at a carvery. Half the food tasted like it was blitzed in a microwave to be honest. Desert was nice though crumble and cheesecake hence 2 stars and not one!
Just had the halloumi fries for starter, delicious and the Cajun sauce is lovely. Main course was the Gammon Roast Dinner, fantastic and delicious food. Brilliant service by all the staff. All staff are friendly and welcoming.
Not been here before even though its only 5 min drive from my house. We will definitely be returning. Great food at reasonable price. The fish basket was amazing.
Our waitress was Pat who was lovely and attentive. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The food came out & it was delicious! We will be definitely coming back!
Great choice of food for vegan eaters as well as meat eaters. Service was great, despite the venue being really busy at the time of the visit. Would highly recommend a visit if you're staying nearby.
we are back again after last weekend for another meal food was absolutely delicious 10 out of 10 A star. Staff are so pleasant Freddy, james and Andy were all fabulous get yourself in you will not be disappointed. Will defo be back for more
