I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but I was so outraged I felt the need to leave one, I have had a medical for the last month and because I start work before 8 o’clock, I’m unable to call Up at eight and sit there and make a appointment , so I decided to call and try to book a appointment for perhaps next week or sometime in the near future. I was told that this was not the system and that you have to because at 8 o’clock and that his house every surgery works , upon expressing my dissatisfaction with this, the receptionist, then hung up on me, and that was the end of that. I have worked in customer service front of house roles for many years I was not rude in anyway I was polite as I always am and that conversation should of ended with a thank you and goodbye from both end instead, she just hung up the phone , so I decided to call back and my call was not answered so I guess she decided not to answer calls from my telephone number .
I found the place to be ok. I organised an appointment time but had to wait nearly an hour to see the doctor. But the doctor I saw was wonderfully helpful but was restricted by time. The receptionists are a mixture of warm and cold. I went there recently and enjoyed the experience. The receptionists were nice to chat to. Very clean place and I did not wait long before I met the nurse for my check up.
I have no doubt that the doctors are pure professionals and good at what they do but the call handlers, particularly shannon offer the worst and most rude customer service i have ever experienced
If I could give a 0 star review or minus I would. I called for an urgent appointment because of my 19 month old baby and I was told I will get a call back. The call back came at 8:11 pm and it literally rang for a millisecond. I had the phone in my hand and I had no time to answer because they rang so short. Unless I would've been a mind reader to see in the future there was no chance for me to answer. The reception staff is extremely rude and have no empathy whatsoever. This is just the worst surgery I have ever been too. I think I maybe call once a year and even then if your doctors can't be bothered for a little 19 month old baby than maybe you shouldn't have chosen this profession. This was just appaling and disgusting behaviour from a doctor to give a call back so short that you have no possibility to answer the phone. I will be looking for a different surgery for sure. Absolutely horrendous.
why all the nastiness? I have never had a problem with this surgery, yes reception does get very busy its a small practice with a lot of elderly patients, it may help if the complainers gave a little leeway to these hard working people and learned to be patient as a patient and I have had no problems with any of the staff or doctors.
I've been going to this doctors for years now, and am getting increasingly frustrated with them. There a couple of Doctors who are brilliant, Dr Sewell for example, and Mr Singh. But some others really do not seem to care at all. However, the thing that lets this surgery down the most are the reception staff. Not ALL of them, but the majority of the receptionists are awful. I honestly have never seen such terrible customer service anywhere. They are so, so belittling, they've done it to me, and I've witnessed them do it to plenty of other patients face to face and over the phone. One in particular, I really can't understand why she hasn't been sacked. They seem to think they are doctors, and half the time won't give you an appointment without wanting graphic details of exactly what your issue is, so they can deem whether its actually appointment worthy. They're very over prescribed and waiting 20+ mins in the waiting room is pretty standard. The longest I have waited was an hour and 15 minutes. If they weren't a stones throw from my house I would change doctors in a heart beat! I wrote this review 2 years ago and actually hate it there even more now! They've bought in a system of having a "navigator" who calls you back after you wait an hour to get through to reception. I've never seen this navigator but I imagine her to wear a crown and sit on a thrown hidden away at the back of the surgery. The almighty navigator will decide now whether you deserve a doctor, nurse or medical neglect. The only positive I can say is from what I hear all surgeries are just as much of a sh*t show these days!
Being a first-time patient here I usually go to its partner surgery, Riverview Park, but they didn't have any openings for weeks, I was a little apprehensive after reading so many bad reviews. However, I thought they were fantastic! Maybe because I was the first patient of the day this morning, I don't know...but I needed to have blood taken and I was let in promptly for my appointment time by a very friendly receptionist, waited about one minute to be called, had blood taken by an extremely friendly and cheerful nurse, and that was it. In and out in roughly five minutes. It's unfortunate that so many people feel they've had a bad experience at The Shrubbery, but if I ever get sent back there I won't hesitate.
How these can even call them selfs a doctors surgery they never answer the phone when they do they leave you on hold after waiting 45 minutes for them to answer when you ask for the doctor to call they never do the person you have to speak to before the doctor is so so so rude to the point I don’t even want to speak to the doctor how this place is even open god only knows but I will be looking to taking all this further only just moved in the area never seen or heard of a doctors as bad as this one please keep clear as they have no duty of care to there jobs !
Both the Riverview surgery and the shrubbery surgery have unempathetic and rude receptionists who do not even care about anyone. its almost like you are forcing them to do their job. Even for children, they do not care. The clinicians are quite nice. The shrubbery is FOREVER busy so appointments are difficult to get. I prefer to self medicate cos I cant be bothered with waiting all day on the phone. once i was told, 'didnt you think to call earlier' then i said i have been trying all morning. the receptionist replied, 'oh we are very busy here'. Very rude things and most times unhelpful. the receptionists are so abrupt. other GP surgeries are not like this. I can say that for a fact. The receptionists do need trainings.
If I could give 0 I would! The receptionist are very rude and ask extensive reasoning for your appointment. I don't have to keep telling the reception all the symptoms just the basics. On numerous occasions they did not call back even if they said they would. Really anooying to get appointments too. I waited over 20 minutes to finally get connected.
