We had a special birthday here with family. We booked with Abby who made the booking very simple and exactly what we were looking for. We arrived on the evening, and Abby was there looking after us and nothing was too much trouble for her or the team. She made the birthday meal a memorable occasion and everyone enjoyed the meal and we all agreed we would love to go back there for another meal soon. The food arrived hot and on hot plates, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again soon!
My daughter and I went for the carvery . The meat was very good and could not fault that but the roast potatoes were dry and the plates are far to small . Once the meat and Yorkshire pudding is on there not a lot of room to put much else on . The vegetables were ok. My son went for ribs which were lovely. We eventually got to order our dessert and to be honest they was not worth the wait of 20 minutes. The toffee apple crumble was so sweet that was all I could taste so most of the dessert was left. The staff are nice and friendly but the service was exceeding slow .
Always love coming here. The lady manager is lovely and always goes out of her way to make your experience memorable. I have allergies and she always remembers and helps me with what is on the menu. Always enjoy our meals here and love the fact they do a carvery : Kid-friendliness: Great for catering with the kids and alot of the staff are great at interacting with them to. Parking: Limited parking and the parking spaces are quite tight. Dietary restrictions: Great at catering for allergies and because alot of meals are fully prepped on sight they can cater to them alot better.
After a few lovely takeaways during Covid we decided to try dining in and it was lovely! The food was amazing and the waitress was very attentive and even managed to make our little one engage with her, very rare! Service was quick and they sorted it so we could go and get our carvery once the kids meal came out so we all ate together. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer atmosphere and would definitely go back!
We had a Christmas get together with friends. We had the carvery which was not great. The vegetables were dry, the stuffing and sausages were cold and there was no crackling to go with the pork. We were sat in the bay window seat and it was so cold. We asked the waitress to put the heat up but were told it was always like this. We felt the radiator and it was cold. The waitress offered to move us but there was only another bay window to sit in. We did move but it was not much better and by the time we left we were so cold. Very disappointed that the radiators were not on, particularly when there was snow outside. It was warm near the carvery but elsewhere it was cold. I will not be going back during the winter or to have the carvery. I have eaten there several times during the summer and the food off the menu was good. The service from our waitress was excellent.
The service and drinks were quite good. It's a lovely pub with a great vibe. The food I did not enjoy at all. Had the seafood platter and it left a lot to be desired. I would visit again for the drinks but I certainly won't be eating there again.
A great pub. Food is excellent. Great staff and service. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Very nice lunch with bestie. Food was very good, we both had liver and bacon with mash and peas, it was delicious and something different from the usual burgers or pizza. The autumn Berry cheesecake was also delicious. Will definitely visit again.Food: 5/5
We booked a table for a couple of hours today after the lockdown lifted on retail and outdoor dining. It was a really pleasant experience with both the service and the food. Our waiter Charlie really made us feel at home and was really speedy with our order and loved to chat with us. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the mussels in the white wine were amazing and the pale ale was on point. Couldn’t have asked for more! We’ve just moved to Leighton so we will frequent here again! Many thanks
