Used to drink in the Ship often when I lived in skegness. Moved away 24 years ago but visited last night to watch my favourite bank Relentless Rockabilly play. It was a great night and brought back fond memories. Great pub, family friendly and good value for money
A loverly local pub had new owners for 12months and they are making a real go of it, great atmosphere, freindly locals and staff they are fine tuning the menu and making steady changes throughout, dog freindly and a loverly garden.
Not normally on our route for a walkaround but decided to call here for a few drinks. What a great place, the staff were so helpful even letting us sample before we bought. Inside and out is very comfortable and well placed to view the expensive cars that drive past.
Another pub which feels like non locals are not welcome even by staff. Nice building and a good menu, served all day. Just felt I was in the way and not wanted, shame as it's could be a 5*
Really nice place was disappointed as we sat in main bar area to be told to move as our 10 year old was with us. Went round the corner to find football wasn't on kids almost hitting us with pool cues. Drinks were OK not over priced.
Fantastic family friendly pub very welcoming staff we went for ed sheeran tribute night the staff came round gave us party snacks sandwiches pizza sausage rolls and gave adults vodka jelly shots a great atmosphere will definitely be returning
Staff and hospitality are lovely. Very welcomed every time I've visited. It has a local pub vibe with amazing entertainment.
The food was OK, but it was like two cold meals being reheated in the oil. Aperol Spritz was pretty much done by my partner as the staff didn't know how to make it. Other than that the venue is a nice place and shows the football.
Really really impressed!!! This is the second year we've been to Skeg as a family and pass this pub on a daily basis, however we decided after finding a 25% off food bill voucher online to have lunch. It's huge with 2 large bars, one was closed which is where we ate, food came swiftly in all fairness we were some of the only people there. Food was absolutely spot on, home cooked and very tasty. Plenty for the kids to do even has a 2p pusher and 2p change machines, along with air hockey, pool tables and £5 bandits. Staff were friendly and even provided taxi numbers as we were heading home. On a side note the toilets were clean, modern and spacious something I don't see alot with large pubs! Will defiantly be going again next year. Thank You guys great service!
Loved the art deco exterior and wanted to visit for years. So this time we went. The entrance is amazing with its double doors leading to the central staircase. Carpet is in keeping with the building. Large oversized bar fittings. Sadly the toilet facilities went too modern and not in keeping with the period. Would prefer to have seen the original tiles and feature sinks and taps. Choice of drinks is good, the food menu was a little disappointing. It commands a fantastic location near the seafront and would have liked to have seen locally sourced fresh fish choices and something this place is screaming out for. Definitely an art deco landmark that should be treasured.
