THE best hill for sledging, mountain boarding, throwing balls for the dog that gets the dog knackered without having to move at all! Great play park, skate board area, football field. Only a shame that toilets are typically grim.

The Sele used to be a very good playground for all makes and models. It's now trading on its past glories - the once magnificent witch's hat is sadly long gone :'( It's now good for the smallest of hatchbacks, up to a certain point of the day which, I'd delineate as 6pm in the summer and, dusk in autumn and winter. The toilets are then locked and then, The Freaks come out. A combination of these surprisingly aggressive locals, once again staking claim to turf (?) and rude clueless dog walkers/runners, are dragging a once glorious park down to little more than a drag strip/dogging venue. Best things about the Sele are photo opportunities within a Victorian parkland setting. Photo's of Hexham Abbey and, the beautiful architecture of the houses which back onto the parkland.

Hexham's central town park. Recently refurbished bandstand, loads of yearly town events and what not. Has a skate park. Toilets can attract chavs who like to smoke there. Never seen any bother mind.
