The Saltshouse

About

The Saltshouse Tavern is a large, two-roomed, friendly local pub, in the heart of east Hull, close to the village of Sutton, Howdale Road, Saltshouse Road and Gleneagle Park.

Story

During noon–9pm, we serve food of excellent value, with specialist evenings such as burger night, curry night and fish and chips night. We show all major sporting events, including football and rugby league, on our six flat-screen TVs. We have a traditional bar, with two pool tables and a several darts boards, as well as a jukebox. We host live music on most Saturday evenings, in the lounge, in the form of great local bands. We also hold a fun event most nights, such as bingo, quiz nights or poker. This pub really leads the local community and is the place to be.

This is a typical northern pub, with great food, great staff and a brilliant atmosphere.nnStrongly recommend visiting
Well there are lots of pubs around and decided to pop in for our dinner as 6pmish. Glad we did. It was quiet at first but people were slowly turning up. There was some low level music playing & a game machine in the corner playing a loop. The menu is not massive like other pub chains but thoughtfully laid out with some interesting and different meals. Bottles of wine start at under 10 quid and every day features a meal and drink deal for just under 6 quid. Live music, quiz nights and other themes. The food was fabulous well cooked chicken burgers with pulled chicken and bacon with spicy sauce. Crisp and hot chips. It's was served quickly and by very pleasant staff. Locally this pub served the best meal around and has a varied menu worth trying. There is a gluten free section too.nnBack again today 16/11/2017 as this pub has been refurbished.nWhat a nice change. Smart, clean stylish looks. Old carpet gone & several pool tables added.nOnce again fab food. I had the tripple chicken burger with chips and a beer 2 chicken gougons, a fillet and pulled with bacon n cheese!!! Wife had a chicken chees & bacon melt burger with chips snd a drink. All for £18.58. Nice selection of ales and house wone starts at £8.50 per bottle.nGreat service, food hot till the end & great value.. Ill add my pics to the general lot.nGo there. They do theme nights and tonight thursday was grill n drink night. This is a big improvement on the original.nWe will be back again.
Great atmosphere, friendly and well run local pub. The food is tasty and enjoyed by all. Staff professional and helpful. Overall great experience.
Just had a meal. Sausage and mash fantastic plenty of gravy just as I like it. Nice price. Staff helpful and friendly definitely be back
The saltshouse tavern on the corner of Dunvegan Road is a nice two room local pub, pool table and darts in the back room. Usually having three real ales on hand pumps. Quite an extensive food menu, I've never been disappointed when I eat here. Often have live music at a weekend. I have seen some good live bands here. A few TV screens showing live sport. Outside seating area to the front is a bit of a sun trap and very popular on nice days. Large car park to rear. Now dog friendly in the bar.
