I’ll start with giving complements to the receptionist who was very polite, helpful and went the extra step in allowing me to check in early. Although this might seem a small gesture, it’s actually rare for hotels to be flexible with check in times. The presentation of the reception was impeccable. The cleaners clearly have a high standard, as I pay attention to the small details and every surface was dust free and polished. The same level of standards followed through to the deluxe room I booked. The layout and the quality of furniture was higher than I expected for the price I paid. The room was set to a comfortable temperature and I can’t fault anything from arriving to settling in to my room. I rarely take the time to write reviews, as I’m often disappointed or underwhelmed by the overall experience. However, I was totally surprised by the level of service, presentation of the reception and room that I felt compelled to write a detailed review for The Royal Toby.
Went here last weekend on the sleep and dine package. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Bar staff were really friendly. The food was great, and there was a good choice. Breakfast next morning was fantastic. Will definitely be back
Surprised by how bad this experience was. The staff in the restaurant were great, food was it's usual wonderful standard, we have eaten here many times before and we have loved it, but tha accommodation was very poor. The room stunk of smoke even though we had requested a non smoking room and we were told its because guests smoke in the bathroom. I had always believed that there was a charge fir smoking in your room? Really poor on the accommodation receptionist side. Will not be staying here again
The food last night at the Michael Buble Christmas party night was absolutely amazing. Was so tasty we all finished every scrap on our plates. The service was second to none and the entertainment was fantastic. Will definitely come again.Service: 5/5
We visited for a family meal, the service was okay but could have been a lot better. We ordered but what we wanted wasn't available so choose something else. Food was average and wasn't worth what it cost.Service: 1/5
My pie meal looked VERY unappetizing. The pie was dumped on the mash and covered with mushy peas on top and sprinkled with grated nuts? On top of the mushy peas. I tasted the meal, and, had it been presented better, I could have enjoyed it. But it looked like the contents of a slop bin.Service: 5/5
Lovely set up, bar, restaurant Italian restaurant & hotel. Went to have lunch in the restaurant, unfortunately it wasn't open until the evening. So had a meal in the bar instead. Chilli, chips & natcho crisps, very tasty. Nice atmosphere in the bar exceedingly helpful, friendly service & reasonably priced. Recommend a visit if in the area
Excellent evening at the Christmas party night in the Rhydding suite 10/12/22. Food was excellent and the staff were amazing My gluten free meal was delicious. And we even got a visit from Santa Service: 5/5

Excellent service and always enjoy the food. Visited on many occasions and never had a bad experience!
