I wasn’t here just for a drink but have a look to the building which was impressive opera house. Beautiful interior in gold and red. Once you are in, you feel like stepped back in history. very cosy and relaxing atmosphere. There was big group of students from Europe visiting there too for taking photos.nBtw good and fast service. Stuff were helpful. Drinks always fairly price in Spoon as usual. Spacious seating area. Anyhow don’t miss a chance to have a look inside or drink while you around area. Its worth.
An interesting ‘Spoons’. All the usual trappings with cheap beers and good value meals. However the steak and chips special was pretty rank. The steak looked anaemic, possibly microwaved and the fries were soft and soggy. Service was prompt but appeared under pressure.
An iconic place, worth more than visit, for its intrinsic artistry. Take time to check out every detail including the portraits. Loved it so much only for this 5/5. Will return repeatedly for sure. Highly recommended.
This is a seriously impressive transformation. What a fabulous building. As you can tell from the name it's an old Opera house & the stalls seating has been left in situ. We sat at a table on the old stage & were wowed as we looked around us. It's a lovely pub. Certainly in my top 5. We only popped in for a hot drink. We ordered using the app & waited 12 minutes for 2 x empty cups to be brought out. We got fed up waiting & my wife got cups from the bar, went to the drinks machine to find out no coffee options were available. Bit disappointed Tim. Wonderful building though. We are told this Spoons has a live band once a year & you can sit in the stalls? If true that would be amazing?
Lovely Wetherspoon, which was once an Opera house/ Theatre. Staff are very friendly, welcoming, and professional.
