Visited here on Saturday evening for a meal with friends and it didn't disappointment. What really stands out about this hotel though is the staff. Tom our server was friendly and informative. Hannah and Connor in the bar where so nice. The star for me though was Greg on reception. He has such a passion for the hotel and it clearly shows when he talks to you. His customer service is outstanding!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Comfortable, friendly hotel with lovely service. I was here for one night on business. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. I asked if I could take away my breakfast roll for lunch and got a 100% positive response, it came back to me carefully wrapped and was delicious. The bed was huge with spotless cotton bedding and soft comfy pillows and duvet. It's a little old-fashioned in decor, but everything that matters works well, and there's a real sense that people care about the place. Highly recommended. Nice vegan offering too!
We didn't stay just visited the restaurant. I had a turkey roast dinner wasn't impressed for the £17 the potatoes tasted like frozen ones and not much veg wouldn't go for a roast again. I have had other food on other visits and been nicer. Nice to sit outside and have a few drinks. Kids food was good but would be great to see it come with at least a drink.
Visited here today with my two daughters for afternoon tea as it was my eldest daughters birthday. It was excellent. The food was delicious, the staff were fantastic. From the moment we walked into the hotel, the experience was first class. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon.
Very very basic old unattractive decor. From the carpet to the color of the walls to the furniture and facilities like WC sink and shower, it's all basic old and outdated. The view was good and location isn't bad, close to city but nothing special. The overall experience for me was disappointing. Would give it 0 starts if I could.Rooms: 1/5
The ease of access with wheelchair is great, I noticed pets are allowed also, however it's not cheap, my plate had piccalilli stain on it my sandwich didn't come with piccalilli, and my grandmother sandwich did but we asked for no piccalilli with her's so there shouldn't have been any, plus one of her sandwiches had a piccalilli stain on it, were very lucky we asked for none due to preference rather than an allergy. The staff were very nice however for the price of the food I would expect better quality. The hot chocolate fudge cake was the best part of the meal.
Very good service. Just one niggle. Meals very slow being delivered. A friend got hers delivered when our table had finished eating. The other people on that table had had big waiting time between servings. The room was cosy and well laid out as there were over 50 people attending the Anniversary of our Society. We all enjoyed the meal. We did get a complaint from a resident that we were too noisy we had a singalong forgetting that people had booked a room for the night and had already retired, and we hadn't realized the lateness of the hour. Sorry about that. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely book again.Thank You.
Excellent staff. Tremendous breakfast. We had a lovely Sunday lunch. Sometimes the bar has Real Ale brewed locally. All round great place to stay. Plenty of parking in car park or on street.Rooms: 4/5
We've never stayed but we live local. We been here to eat at the bar and for drinks many times. Its a lovely place and the food is superb! Royal club sandwich is my fave but the burger and the pasta are very good too. Excellent staff, very friendly and will share a joke. Location is perfect, 5 mins walk to marina and another 5 mins to the beach. Lovely setting, bar area is very clean and well set out, the conservatory part is nice and the outside terrace is great to catch some sun. Nice to go for evening drinks also and prices are reasonable.
We only had lunch so can't comment on anything else. We all enjoyed our meals, plenty of variety and good quality. The staff were really nice.Service: 5/5
