Mission

We are an exciting bar bistro in Bideford (formally known as The Swan Inn) serving a mouth watering selection of freshly prepared dishes using the finest meats, seafood, fruit and vegetables sourced locally wherever possible. We are located just across the bridge from Bideford town centre, adjacent to the river with ample parking just 200 metres away.

If you’re looking for an ideal place to meet friends or work colleagues, our refreshingly refurbished restaurant should meet your needs for either a light snack at lunchtime or a more substantial meal by candlelight at dinner.

Why not have a drink on your arrival in our stylish bar area or relax outside on our beautiful decked terrace with picturesque river views.

Our team of Chefs create daily specials in addition to our extensive menu, liaising with our local suppliers to offer seasonal dishes for all budgets and tastes. We cater for special dietary requirements including gluten free, vegetarian and nut allergies.

Functions at The Riverbank....
The Riverbank Bistro provides a great venue for groups and functions in Bideford and is available for parties, wedding receptions, corporate entertainment, special events & private hire.

In total we can cater for up to 70 diners inside the restaurant, as well as an additional 15 seats on our riverside outdoor decking area during the warmer months. Our “galley area” can accommodate up to 22 diners providing the perfect location for a family celebration dinner or a business lunch.

Larger groups and party celebrations can be catered for, we can be very flexible in order to meet any particular catering requirements you may have, call Lee on 01237 473399 to discuss your requirements and we will create a menu to meet all your needs.

We have catered for 200 guests, this is based on an informal buffet whereby the whole venue is booked out for private hire, booking is required well in advance along with a deposit
