3 of us meet regularly at Highfields restaurant for breakfast and a catch up but we have been disappointed with the breakfasts lately. The food is displayed in too big a quantity under lights and on hotplates that seem to carry on cooking the food and on occasion we have witnessed staff throwing eggs away. During todays visit the eggs were over cooked with the yolks gone hard on both the fried and the poached eggs. The chef declined to cook a fresh one for one of our party as he said he hadn’t long put them out and the counter staff were equally unconcerned resulting in that breakfast being cancelled by our party member. My breakfast was only lukewarm with the bacon hard and tough to eat where it had dried out, and the toast was cold the butter didn’t even begin melt on it and anaemic looking. This was similar to last week and when I asked then for the toast to be put through the machine again it came out burnt. According to the waitress that was the 2 choices - underdone or overdone. I’m afraid my meal was wasted today as it was inedible and after the chefs refusal to rectify the egg situation I wasn’t inclined to take it back. It’s fair to say we weren’t the only disappointed customers this morning and we won’t be breakfasting there in future.

The Lady who's serving me was very Loud and shouty. She has No respect whatsoever, very aggressive. It is the first counter on the Left when you come in, to order Hot Meals. The food is average. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces .

Fantastic food. Best garden centre for miles around to have lunch. Restaurant staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The menu has excellent choice of hot or cold food. Just a brilliant place to eat. We go there quite often and never had a bad meal. Terrific value for money as well.
Great food and lovely cakes and coffee. Get there early if you want to bags a comfy seat! I often meet up with my friends there. It's dog friendly which is fantastic that's the staff and vast majority of the customers. I've had one tut from an old lady and my dog was on a lead and very well behaved. There's always one! and when she was alive, it was great to be able to take her there otherwise we would've had to meet up elsewhere. It's close to the motorway if you're not local and there are lovely views from the restaurant. One of the nicest places to eat, or have a coffee and socialise around.

Serving staff made me feel like I was disturbing them. They forgot some if the items from the breakfast. The sausages were very nice.Food: 3/5
Food is good but dogs are allowed I restaurant. Not good when they mess on floor in middle of the dining area. Has put me off eating here for good.
