This place is nicely set back from the hustle and bustle of the high street in Islington. It is still one of the most Islington places you can go there. High end Gastro pub with painfully trendy staff who are really quite nice and friendly. Drinks prices are stiff, even for Islington but they have a good range of craft beers to choose from. Similarly the food prices are a bit above the margin but once again the quality is there, and you do get what you pay for. Pizza is good restaurant quality. I was there for a work retirement event and I thoroughly enjoyed the downstairs area with its small private bar. That is until the Karaoke started. The horror. The horror. Not the venues fault though. Overall you couldn't really find a better venue for a private event.
Came here for the pub quiz on Thursdays. Booked a table for 7.30pm, quiz started at 8pm and it was fully booked so definitely be sure to book in advance. There is a contribution of £3 per person for the quiz. The quizmaster was good but the quiz was very long. It didn't end til about 10.15pm and I do think it can be somewhat refined. There was a good variety of topics but surprisingly, across 5 or 6 rounds, not one question about sport. The food was so good. The chicken milanese was average and I would definitely recommend they serve it with spaghetti instead of roast potatoes and salad as it was very dry. The margherita pizza however was great- better than some pizza I've had in Italy!
I booked the basement of the Regent for a work social. The location of the venue was convenient, and the staff were amazingly helpful and active. Before the event, communication for setup was quick and detailed. They were able to deliver our large catering order, and the pizzas were good quality. The space itself was a bit smaller than I thought it would be. It states a maximum of 60 people but our event of about 50 felt tight. However, the staff didn't mind as some people occupied tables upstairs, which was nice of them. It was a lovely experience.
This place is definitely a 10/10. Not sure about any other night but the Thursday pub quiz night was the most fun I've had in a long time whilst drinking cocktails and eating great pizza! The host was a great choice. He brought the right level of energy and excitement whilst allowing for anticipation. I had the pizza which was lovely. Real Italian pizza. And the cocktails were two for £12 until 8pm. I will definitely be back. We had a great time.
Booked the function room for my 30th birthday for around 45 people. We had a great time, chilled atmosphere and really attentive staff especially Saki our bartender she was a joy and full of energy. We had the volume up full blast and danced the night away, a really great gem of a venue. Everyone said how delicious the pizza was - we'll definitely be back for karaoke next time!
Great little pub with a proper local feel. The staff were super friendly, the kind that remember your order after the second visit. Atmosphere was welcoming - busy enough to feel vibrant but not loud or obnoxious. Food is really good too, especially the pizzas. Good selection of veggie and vegan options, so something tasty for everyone. They've got a good selection of beer + cider on tap, including some nice imported craft brews and some decent cocktails. Overall, The Regent is a gem on Liverpool Road. Great food, friendly service, and a proper pub atmosphere. Highly recommend checking it out!
Had a private party in the basement room and it was great! Very firendly and helpful staff, and the room was perfect for my event. I brought my own music and we danced the night away. Only downside is that it closes already at midnight on Saturdays!Food: 5/5
Organised a fancy dress leaving party in the hired space and it was fab staff were brilliant and really add to the atmosphere and chef was amazing. The whole thing was so fun and chilled, great value for money which is hard to come by in London. A perfect blank canvas for an event we had the best time thank you!Food: 5/5
I always go to The Regent because it's the most cozy, excellent, and clean pub ever! I strongly recommend it. Everyone on the staff is well-intentioned, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the pizzas are really good, with delicious options for vegetarians. I will always go back!Food: 5/5
I booked the private party room without even seeing it not always a good idea but we were all very impressed. The room was absolutely perfect for my brothers 50th. Space to dance, air conditioning needed when you dancing or singing karaoke badly and comfortable chairs and tables around the sides. We didn’t Pre-order food but the staff were happy to accommodate anyone who wanted some and the people who did were very happy with their selection it was very tasty. The staff from the moment we walked in were friendly and nothing was too much trouble and the manager was amazing and helpful. We had our own bar person for a small extra charge and it was well worth it Daniel I hope I remembered that right was fantastic and so friendly he really topped the night off for us. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you to you all a brilliant night for us all.
