Just had Christmas eve birthday breakfast with my family 20 in all and have to say how much we all enjoyed the experience. The breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked, great quality bacon & sausages and the rest couldn't have been better. Service was smooth and efficient bringing all twenty meals to table within a few minutes. A big thank you to Tom and his team, will definitely be returning next year. 10 out of 10
Just had Christmas Day lunch at the lodge. The food was excellent, we all really enjoyed it, such good value for money, literally could not fault it. Nadine, our waitress was very sweet, kind and helpful. Well done to all at the lodge, i for one really appreciate the fact that you have given up your day for all your customers. A big thank you.
The food was really good and price is reasonable. The steak was cooked perfectly soft and taste really good. Starters were amazing too. My family enjoyed all the meal. Very satisfied
Food took about an hour to arrive. When it did the food was cold. Clearly they were short staffed at the bar and in the restaurant. Shame as used to be such a good place to eat and drink. Hope they can sort out the staffing issues. Food and drink is decent value for money.
Went on Sunday for a celebration 75th birthday meal , 5 people including grandma and grandchild. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. The mains took over an hour. No warning about timing. We were all freezing and had to put coats on. We would have walked out but we were committed. Terrible.
Went here on Thursday night the was one member of staff working he was on his own with the chef they both done a brilliant job serving food and running the bar they had run out of a lot of food but what we had was a good quality
Could have been a lovely experience but it was a let down, unfortunately. Friendly staff but service was so slow, drinks took ages, food was OK once it arrived, not acceptable. We had to chase up drinks and food. We weren't even warned of any delays. Sat in a freezing room, all had to wear coats. No real acknowledgement of the issues. Not what we had planned for a birthday celebration.
service very poor, took forever for the food, the food wasn’t great pretty sure the feta was off , definitely do no recommend and won’t be coming again. This place has gone very down hill.
A really enjoyable meal at a very reasonable price. Staff were excellent and very attentive. The roast meal was excellent.
Probably the worst meal I and my party have had. The wait for our meal was not too bad about 30mins but the food was horrible. I had the Duo Carvery, the bulk of the food was luke warm. The meat should have been slices of Beef and Turkey. The Beef comprised of two reasonable sized slices and a slice of nothing but fat. The Turkey was the little scraps you get after slicing a few slices, no piece was larger that a 10p coin. The vegetable came from a frozen packet and the potatoes were full of eyes. Two of my party had the Vegan option which they said was luke warm. The best comments came from my younger guests who said their burgers were 'alright or okay'. This was an exploratory visit after several years of seeing the quality go down, and giving them a break to see if there was any improvement, unfortunately not, we will not be returning again.
