Me and my mrs were in on Christmas Eve and we were served by peony all night. She’s a top quality bartender who really puts the service into customer service. Would definitely recommend coming just for the service never mind the cheap drink!
Food very poor today.We chose the lunch time special of fish and chips but it was inedible. The fish was thin, tired and leathery with thick, dry and hard batter. When we complained, the server said that he would look into it but disappeared. Later, he apologised and accepted that the fish wasn't fresh. Noo refund was offered, and he grudgingly agreed to a couple of drinks.
Always understaffed. A busy Saturday morning and one person serving behind the bar and one bringing out food. No one to clear tables. When we asked for the one drinks machine to be topped up so we could have coffee we were told ‘I’ll do it when I have time’. There were children constantly running backwards and forwards. I won’t be back in a hurry.
On Sunday the 6th November me, my father and my daughter went to the roebuck for a late breakfast/early lunch and ordered an all day breakfast for myself and my father and we ordered a child's spaghetti Bolognese. When we received the food, the all day breakfasts were burnt, stale and the plates were super hot where they had been clearly microwaved. The child's Bolognese plate was also boiling hot where it had been microwaved. This is a Child's meal and is unacceptable that the plate was so hot! The food was horrible and I definitely won't be going back any time soon. The food used to be nice in the roebuck what changed? The price is lower because it is a weather spoons however it does not mean that it should be made this badly. The only reason I am giving it 2* is because the staff were lovely and organized. But this is not enough for an establishment that serves food.
Absolutely disgusting we had the roast dinner instant mash carrots and stuffing were not cooked. The table was so dirty stuff still on them the staff were just walking about didn't even ask how our meal was sent emails but no reply definitely don't recommen UPDATE still haven't replied 2 my emails y should we have 2 waste our money on rubbish!!!!
Went for my usual pint over the Xmas period and surprise a really lovely new bar lady. Good food as always and a lovely pint.
Great value for money but lacks atmosphere, could do with some music
A great place to enjoy a relaxing night out for a drink great food and excellent value for money.
Went to visit today really bad service table not cleared when we sat down had to put glasses and mugs on table opposite still not cleared still 40 minutes later. Ordered vegan pizza and 6oz burger. After paying and sitting back at table was told mo vegan veg pizza. Ordered jkt potato was asked to pay extra.Burgers served were burnt and very unappetising we are usually regular customers but certainly will not be visiting again
Enjoyable Essex Wetherspoons! It's both cosy and comfortable. Food good and great value, same with drinks. Makes a great night out for an everyday evening... Staff friendly enough, but often it appears locals and regulars seems to get priority service, out of turn at the bar! My only gripe!. Still a very good pub.
