The Queens

About

Sit back & relax in ornate Victorian surroundings......hide away in our garden oasis or share a whole roast chicken & bottle of red on a sunday afternoon. The Queens is your regal home from home!

Story

This lovely ornate Victorian pub was originally built as a hotel, just down the road from the Clock Tower in the middle of Crouch End. It has two lovely rooms, the big bar with its central counter, and the dining room with its wonderfully ornate ceiling and open kitchen. In addition, it has an oasis of a garden at the back (heated in winter) which is probably Crouch End's best- kept secret.

The Queens serves fantastically well- kept beers and ales, as well a long list of wines by the bottle and glass. The food is delicious: fresh, seasonal and constantly changing. In keeping with our fervent wish to provide good value as well as exceptional quality, there is a weekday £5 Lunch, with daily-changing dishes but always fish & chips, in addition to the longer daily lunch and dinner menus.

Decent pub near Primrose Hill. The toilets were in a bit of a state when we got there at the end of a hot Sunday but I imagine the first pub near the park is going to get a bit busy! Nice staff, and beautiful inside. Love the place, and probably would go back.
We 2 patrons had the beef roast and pork roast. The potatoes were a bit off too dry, but the beef was tender and well seasoned and the accompanying horseradish was divine. The pork was also good, a nice hefty portion and the applesauce added the right amount of sweetness. The Yorkshire pudding was just the right kind of fluffy.Food: 4/5
UNDER STAFFED. I have to admit I’m rather disappointed. Only arrival we were welcomed with a relatively quiet pub for a Friday evening, yet the bar is over spilling with glasses. We get taken to our table up stairs for sups. Service was particularly slow. Drinks order arrives wrong. Ordering next round we were then asked to order from the app despite having table service to that point. The toilets were a state, both cleanliness & interiorly run down . Were asked to go downstairs at 23hr15 as told they are “prepping for tomorrow”, we head now with no worries to be told it shuts at 23hr and have multiple staff trying to usher us away from the pub. The food to be fair was pretty good. Shame as was looking forward to visiting.
I’ve been to many pubs, but the team at The Queen’s are some of the best. They remember the orders of regulars, are absolutely hilarious and hard working. The manager did a great job hiring and he himself is a lovely guy, EXCELLENT!Food: 5/5
Kids' meal is half the price, but almost the same amount of food as adults?? Makes about as much sense as the pricing itself... Added 3 weeks later - After sharing this, the response from the pub was to reduce the child's portion further. ‍
Had the best bangers & mash of my life! Didi was the best bartender. She always pays attention to detail and ensures a great experience. I can’t wait to come back!Food: 5/5
What an absolute GEM this pub is! not only is the interior gorgeous, the staff are all very helpful, attentive and make the experience 10/10. special shoutout to Fraser, Mirka, and Maia for making our experience top tier. slushie margs are brilliant too.Food: 5/5
We 2 people went here for a Sunday roast and the food was good. The potatoes were unfortunately rather dry and rock hard, and we asked for extra gravy however we were denied. We mentioned we'd be happy to pay for some extra but they refused. Given it was around 1pm and they were still serving roast, it really shouldn't have been a problem? Food was otherwise fine, slow service but I can understand since it was busy. Drinks okay and priced like any other pub in London.. Toilets were revolting but then again practically everyone from the park was using them.
Lovely vibrant pub just off the park in Primrose Hill. Great beers on tap, baked Camembert is delicious and coffee is great thanks Maia!Food: 5/5
I ADORE this pub! The space is quaint but stylish and the bar staff is very friendly. In a great location next to Primrose hill so you can see the city, go for a walk, then grab a cozy pint 28/2 Update: we came for Sunday roast recently and it was a wonderful meal! The cheesy cauliflower was delicious!
