The food was lovely. Beautifully cooked fillet steak and triple cooked chips followed by a tasty very well executed sticky toffee pudding (generous with the sauce which makes a pleasant change)! Cosy friendly atmosphere and an open fire, nice beamed building. However service was slow and a bit haphazard. It wasn't that busy for a Friday night as it was just after Christmas so there wasn't really any excuse. If service had been better it would have been better value for money as it's not cheap. I would definitely give it another go that being said.

Very disappointing, one hour and five minutes from ordering main course to it being served, only a roast, nothing special, starters were served after about forty minutes, no staff available to order drinks in meantime, after we left table to order drinks we were offered a free drink. W hen the food eventually arrived it was not very good, mainly cold and overpriced for what we received, the prices are almost equal to Smiths and Alec’s Restaurant but unfortunately not in the same league!! We have used the Queens Head many times in the past and have always been satisfied.
