The most recent addition to the Meredith Group (The Only Running Footman, Mayfair) The Portman is a fine, neighbourhood style bar and restaurant, situated in the small and chic London enclave of Portman Village. A fitting addition to the stylish boutiques that call this part of the capital home, The Portman is the ideal after shopping stop off yet equally befits a special dining occasion. On the ground floor, The Portman’s pub area is a cosy choice for easy dining, with an all-day menu encompassing sophisticated breakfasts and sleek versions of pub grub classics. Every dish came out to perfection, haddock was battered in a light crust and the lamb rump was highly flavourful and yet tender. Many beers/ciders on tap as well.Food: 5/5

We booked a table for 10 and were delighted with the food and especially the service which was exemplorary. The sausage and mash was a popular choice and deservedly so. The sticky chicken was fabulous and so too were the fish and chips, the chop and also the steak tartare starter. Above we were served with super care and consideration. Thank you and well done the Team at The Portman

I love this chic pub in Marylebone, yes it’s spenny but so are all other places in the area the sitting area on the first floor is done nicely, great atmosphere. Would recommend for a drink or a Sunday brunch. Both fish&chips and the pie, that we tried were very delicious. We will visit again soon Food: 5/5

I celebrated my 30th with about 15 people and we had a table upstairs which was amazing. The service, food, ambiance and decoration were all great! The person taking care of us made us feel very welcome and relaxed and everything ran so so smoothly that I didn't even need to think about it! Thank you for making my birthday a special moment!!
Office lunch. Picked because great food - and the food is great but…. seems like the chef has left or was off. Food took ages to arrive. I was told a well done steak would take “longer so we needed to be aware”. I was like what 3 minutes longer? Yes I know I am a karen. Anyway 2 of us ordered mussels for £15 each. We literally got 6 each as though it was a starter portion. The waitress did agree it was a small portion so ordered some more and we got 6 more mussels between us. It was all so faulty towers. We were offered 10% off the bill but at £93 for a steak - was delicious friend said, pasty risotto, a questionable amount of mussels, 2 glasses of wine and a coke it seemed pricey. I guess I would think twice before going again. I live locally.
Twelve of us had lunch today. A first class service and great food. There is a real "can do" attitude here and an excellent service culture. I only scored atmosphere down a bit as I asked to have the music turned down which they did. I'll be going back as will some of my pals when they are in the area...well done.Food: 5/5
