Whilst the setting of the pub is magical, the ambience it's somewhat spoiled by a local turning up half way through or dining experience, switching on the TV to watch international rugby with the volume turned up! To be asked if we minded would've been nice.

****An update to say that the pub kindly offered us a full refund. Extra star in view of this.****
We booked a night, but came home rather than stay. I killed or chased away 4 large flies and numerous small biting bugs - in February....! - before deciding room was too dirty. Food in pub was also disappointing and bars were cold. I truly do not recognise this as the place with so many positive reviews. I wonder if we'll be offered a refund....

Nice cosy pub, with links to the local horse racing stables. Good selection of beers and food, though I didn't eat the smells coming from the kitchen smelt good. Only word of warning would be crossing the road to the car park could be quite dangerous (though the road seems fairly quiet)

Full english breakfast as prelude to day at Cheltenham ..Faultless meal and excellent service and unlimited great coffee made for an excellent start to the day ..will return soon
