The Plough

About

The Plough is a charming, beautiful country pub in Euxton, Chorley offering delicious food, cask ales and a fantastic beer garden. A true gem!

Story

We offer quality, freshly prepared food from snacks, light bites, steaks, burgers and a full bank of homemade dishes and pub classics too! Serving food all day till 9pm!

This is complemented with a great range of extra cold draught Beers and Ciders, Cask Ales, Wines and Minerals.

The Bar and Snug offers a dog friendly area with two real fires for those cold crisp days, and also has two TV's bringing you both Sky Sports and BT Sports for those sports enthusiast!

The Orangery is the new addition to the pub bringing you a light, airy dining area with fold back doors for those wonderful summer days!

Plus there's the original dining areas exuding character and charm not to mention the relaxed bar area.

The beer garden is due a full overhaul by Bulmers in April with new benches and stools on their way ready to make the most of the warm weather!

Families are more than welcome and we have high chairs, kids cups and cutlery as well as a kids menu!

We allow dogs in the "Bar and Snug" area but ask they remain on their lead. Obviously we also allow dogs in the beer garden but again we ask that they remain on their leads. We have lots of water bowls and biscuits are available and ask that any "accidents" are dealt with by you as responsible dog owners!

The Plough re-opened in March 2015 following a major refurbishment by Star Pubs and Bars and MSR Pubs Ltd. This is the second venture as they already operate The Yew Tree in Walton le Dale opposite The Capital Centre.

We always get a good value for money meal here. My husband enjoys the fish and French fries - and he's not easily pleased ! I recently had baked salmon on crushed new potatoes and thin beans - best pub meal I've had for a long time - it was delicious and only about £12. They have a choice of 3 cask ales usually but I'm not keen when they've been flavoured too much with citrus and spices. Staff are friendly enough and service as efficient as it can be with freshly prepared food. Staff could be more knowledgeable about items on the menu - I often need to ask what the dishes contain . Overall a good place to go.

Went Thursday evening, staff very pleasant. Food service was slow. Had mixed grill, which was okay, nothing special and overpriced at £16.95. Steak was cooked as requested : medium rare but was chewy and was left. I would return and try other dishes

Went for lunch and was SO glad... food was excellent along with the service. Not been for a while and the place is much bigger... brighter. Definitely worth a visit.

My partner and I regularly visit and are blown away by the service and food. We have searched high and low but to no avail, no where does sweet potato fries like The Plough! The food is top notch. There’s something on the menu for everyone. Pub grub with excellent presentation, piping hot and has been wonderful on every visit. Absolutely love it here. Staff are very friendly and always welcoming. It’s our go-to place. 5 stars.
