Squeezed us in last minute for a Sunday roast and so glad they did - service was excellent, really tasty staters and a great roast - kids polished their plates! lovely atmosphere in the bar area with the fire on, a lovely Sunday!
I really like this pub so feel a bit bad only giving 3 stars but the food lets it down. Quite expensive for what you get in terms of quality and taste. £21.50 for the beef seems steep with Perkins right around the corner, and Bread and Lard Island in Ladybay, which both serve one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had at a comparable price. If this wasn’t a chain I wouldn’t be so harsh however I feel that profit has become more of a priority than quality.
What a great experience from entry to exit a lovely warm welcome great food great service we all had different mains4 all well presented, meats all delicious veg cooked to perfection we will be back
Won't be in a rush to head back.nThe place had been recommended by a friend but I'm not sure what the hype is about.nThe table we were sat at seemed to be away from the rest of the diners and right next to the kitchen door.nThe windows need a really good clean as they had food bits all over them.nThe menu shown online for Sunday lunch wasn't what they were actually serving this week, which was annoying.nThe Sunday lunches we ordered were okay but for the price, we would have expected nicer and have had much better at other restaurants.nWe asked for the dessert menu, but once we got the menu, no one came to take our order for about 20 mins and that was only because we asked someone.nNot a terrible experience, but we've definitely had nicer meals, in nicer looking restaurants for less money too.
Staying locally in Cotgrave. Searched in the locality and was able to get booked in. Granted a Monday night so not too busy. As a celiac I needed Gluten Free food options. No hassle there and great service. Lovely food and I’d recommend it. Enjoy.
