We went here at night for drinks and it was a fun experience. It gets very crowded but people are friendly. You just find an available seat or spot to sit/stand wherever there is space. Nice atmosphere to grab drinks/socialize and seems more like a local pub with live music.
Nice looking pub but the service is awful. Four staff and two of them treated us with respect the other two acted like children. Told us to stand at the corner in front of the service area and when we did because it was soooo packed another staff member screamed and said we moved the sign. What an absolute weirdo making an assumption he slammed the sign down. Don’t know their names but your man with the awful car parks and pony tail didn’t even say anything to us he just lost his temper. Eamonn was working in Briodys that night so obviously the bar staff o didn’t care as the owner wasn’t there. And also I don’t even do reviews but with the service so bad I honestly hope Wasn’t up to standard well awful device these staff get sacked. We complained to the younger lounge man and he gave us a a look that said “I know”.
While Pipers Corner may not have the same “traditional” feel of some other 200 year old pubs in Dublin, this pub is definitely worth checking out. It’s well away from the Temple Bar area which is exactly why you should visit. Get away from the tourists and visit this cozy spot with some amazing traditional music.
Just a regular pub with a good selection of pints. Not a pub with the genuine Irish feeling. But well worth a visit if you are nearby.
Great spot away from the main drags. Staff attentive and friendly, and the whole place has a relaxed atmosphere. Great trad music 9pm each night and an excellent selection of beers for the size of the pub. This is a regular spot for me for after work drinks.
I was a tourist in the city and happen to find Pipers by exploring. Really glad I did! The live music and friendly staff was very nice. The 2 guys working were a lot of fun and spoke to me like I had been coming in for years. If you want a break from the tourists traps this is your place!
We stopped here for a pint on the way back to our hotel. Known for a place to hear traditional Irish music. While the music did not formally start until 9pm, a violinist played a soulful tune by himself and a singer did a solo mournful song. Space is plain, simple and rough around the edges. Also a Mens Only club vibe. My wife, one of the few women there, started a conversation with two elderly gents and was rebuffed. If you’re a tourist, it’s best only to speak when spoken to.
Definitely come here. If you’re a tourist, please step out of temple bar. They had locals, traditional music starting at 9 pm, and even gluten free beer options! Definitely glad I came.
Traditional urban 'working man's club' type bar playing traditional Irish music from 9 nightly. Friendly staff and good beer available.
Very friendly, but compared to other places, stiff place at one of the main roads. You find musicians there as well, but I experienced better players on other locations. However, the staff is welcoming you and you can definitely have a great time there too.
