It was a fantastic lunch venue, with a great view. The service was friendly and food amazing the freshest fish and chips, with no grease. The hot chocolate was great. This is definitely going to become a regular visit for us
Popped in with friends for lunch - great selection and highly recommend the fish pie. Staff are friendly and not overly attentive. Lovely garden area to enjoy ice cream on a sunny day. Right beside an extensive shingle beach, and on a clear day France is visible. Beautiful spot.
Superb food at great prices. Kept clean, dog friendly separate area and on a clear day you can watch the boats go by. Fish & Chips for the win, every time. And we've been 6 times now. Worth the drive, you will not be disappointed.
A friend’s recommendation was most definitely worth the visit. From minute one the staff were fantastic and friendly. Accommodated a party of seven including wheelchair. The food was piping hot and extremely tasty. The restaurant is in such a great location on the coast.
Still as good as I remember it. A brilliant pint of Pilot by Romney Brewery. Very well kept and super tasty. I had Haddock, chips and mushy peas which was huge, and delicious. The fish was so fresh and creamy. My wife had Scampi, chips and salad. The Scampi was exceptional. Highly recommend..
Haven't been here for years and hasn't changed a bit. Still a very clean and well presented restaurant. I have had the fish many times and was always good but on this occasion I had the steak and ale pie. Very well presented and very tasty, for pudding I had the pilot banoffee pie, this did not disappoint. If you are on Romney marsh and hungry this is the place to go.
I had been here in 2021 and was so impressed by the Fish and Chips I was dreaming about it in London. I even made my partner drive us from East Sussex 30 minutes to Dungeness to have the same fish and chips again. Unfortunately the food compared to last time and compared to fish and chips in London fell short. The portion size is indeed large but the fish served this time was greasy and the batter tasted as if it had been cooked in oil that needed changing. The batter was still light but lacking in flavour. The fish also was a little slimy and haddock shouldn't taste that way. The chips were largely inedible too hard and completely lacking in flavour also tasting of unchanged oil. I used to work in a fish and chip shop in my teens and Wimbledon had at least 3 stand out fish and chip shops with freshly cut chips. Frequent oil changes are necessary as are freshly cut chips. I'm disappointed that this place on the occasion I visited fell so short of my memory of it.
Lovely dog friendly pub with outdoor seating and children’s play area. Food is great and the portions are large. The views from the pub are amazing. Well worth a visit.
A very busy local restaurant well known by all and by many who travel great distances for their food. Big portions and cooked fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to have a meal or drink and nice views out to the beach.
Lovely fish and chips at the Pilot Inn. They also do pies and steaks, burgers, starters and desserts etc. so everyone should find something they like. There is indoor and outdoor dining available, and it's a dog friendly venue. There was a selection of local produce including craft beers. It was busy when I visited, and for good reason. Give it a try.
