Both my kids really enjoyed the scampi and chips here and ate loads. Large portion sizes - the picture is of small cod! Served quickly. Also have Shepherd Neame beer. Not fancy but traditional mayonnaise in plastic sachets. Certainly a destination for lots of the customers.
We went to the Britannia with an open mind after reading both good and bad reviews. Our experience left nothing to complain about. Beer and wine were both excellent. After a relaxing drink we ordered food and the cod and chips was very good. Chips cooked perfectly. Staff were pleasant and efficient. A great place to have a break when travelling on the RHDR. Perhaps new menu's, they were a bit worn.
Stopped for fish & chips & cappuccino on a very blustery day. Staff very friendly. Fires were on so felt very cosy.
We took a ride on th Romney Hythe and Dymchurch minature railway. We went for a short walk to experience the inn. We were not disappointed. We had the haddock and chips. I had salad, my partner peas. Delicious. Crispy golden chips. Light crispy batter on fresh tasty fish. Served on a fish shaped plate.
It’s a great location to sit and have a beer, especially in the sun but the food is all frozen. If you ordered anything battered, you can’t really taste the difference but we had the seafood platter and the raw fish had a strange flavour to it. The staff are friendly but service is quite slow, especially when a lot of people come in from the train.
Mad pub at the tip of Dungerness. Range of Shepherds Neame beers. Great big fish and chips. Fast service. Sit outside and admire the nuclear power station!Food: 5/5
What a lovely pub, the food was of an excellent standard good size helpings too, we both had fish, chips and peas and all for a reasonable price. The staff were attentive and polite. We would highly recommend a visit.Food: 5/5
Very good fish and chips, lovely fresh salad, large portions, gorgeous ice cream. Staff very friendly and attentive. Dog friendly. Apparently Ed Sheeran has bought a house nearby so you may even bump into him in the Britannia!
Firstly, I missed on the menu that all of their food may contain nuts, my fault, however the lady behind the bars face said it all. It was as if I had asked to fly me to the moon. They were quite busy so I asked the lady to find out and let me know. After waiting about 10 minutes I went to order the food and to find out about the allergies. The lady just said all of our food may contain nuts. Whilst I appreciate allergies can be a pain, restaurants have a legal obligation to provide clear and concise information. In short go to the Pilot Inn, about a a mile away, they were excellent and we had a lovely meal. Dietary restrictions: Absolutely not interested in anyone with allergies!!!
Great pub at Dungeness !!! We stopped in for a pint at get end of the railway and outside they have 20 or so picnic tables. You go to window one and order and if you get drinks you pay a £1 deposit on the plastic cups but that’s fair and when I returned them was given the deposit back in cash with a smile. Price wise I think very reasonable so no issues there. Once ordered you collect drinks from window 2 and under no exaggeration I probably waited 90 seconds. Although we didn’t get food what was coming out for others looked fantastic and although severed in plastic baskets they all looked empty so what does that tell you? It really is a great little find and with a car park and a fair amount of capacity it is in my opinion worth a visit.
