This pub is alright, definitely on the pricey end of things. Burger was very dry and the beans had clearly been sitting under a heater for a good while, the table was so wobbly and bumpy my drink actually spilled twice. They only replaced it once which was a shame. Seens as i was soaked. We still had a lovely afternoon here. The staff were great, the inside is very clean. Toilets spotless. Ordered a brownie but unfortunately a cheesecake came out. Then I was told it was a brownie, even though I have eyes and could clearly see it was not a brownie. Told it came with a scoop of ice cream but it came with normal cream. I then had to pay extra to actually get the ice cream. It seems to me that this establishment would rather get every penny possible than keep the customer happy. Which is a shame. I probably won't be back as it felt like dispute after dispute. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great either
I’ve booked the dinner to treat my husband birthday at 5pm on Sunday 30th September and our first time here, The pub was lovely but the food was left over from the week before I could say that, first I’ve ordered buffalo chicken wings which is tooo dry as the photo then I’ve ordered roasted beet and my husband ordered chicken but we’ve informed that the roasted potatoes not enough for us! Seriously? It’s Sunday roast!!! so I said it’s ok no potatoes for me, instead they gave my husband some roasted potatoes with mashed and roasted parsnip which is dry like a rock, we couldn’t even eat that!!! I couldn’t even cut the beef..never ever again to go to this pub!!!!!!! Do not RECOMMEND FOOD HERE! Very disappointed!!!
I grew up as a teenager literally 2 mins walk from the Pheasant pub and it was never a go-to establishment for me or any of my peers. I was there today with family celebrating a significant family birthday with a meal and drinks. The pub has been transformed and is fresh and modern and inviting. The food was decent and service efficient. Overall, it's a pub and restaurant that I would recommend to people in the Bedford area. The only reason my review is 5 stars is that when a Yorkshire pudding is described as "giant" on the menu, I expect something impressive. The Yorkshire pudding that arrived with my roast pork belly and veg was average. So, I'd encourage the management to avoid using words like giant when they are not delivering.
Friendly staff nice garden out the front, sadly disappointed with my meal, the quality and the size of the portion. I had to pay extra for peas which is not on really, meals should come with at least one choice of veg and not a way of making more money by charging for peas. Hope this can be seen as a constructive suggestion rather than a moan
Went to the Breakfast with Santa. What a lovely idea! The breakfast was delicious. Would love for that to be a permanent part of the menu. Father Christmas coming round to the table to see the children was so nice, and getting to take pictures as a family with him was lovely. Can’t wait to book for next year! Thank you for such a simple but festive event.
First visit since the refurbishment and new landlords and it didn't disappoint at all. In fact we liked it so much, we decided to have a meal there! The food was cooked to perfection! Staff were really friendly and made us feel so welcome. We felt so relaxed, even though the pub was really busy by this point. We will be regular customers there for definite!
Staff very friendly. Food tasted great but bit pricey for amount on plates. Nice atmosphere & a comfortable visit.
I've been back to The Pheasant a couple of times since it reopened, and both times have been a very good experience. The staff are cheerful and friendly and there's a reasonable range of drinks, including some locally brewed beers. The most recent visit was for England's World Cup match against USA. The pub was busy without being rammed and the sound was turned up loud enough to hear the commentary easily, but not so loud that we couldn't continue our conversation. The food was decent and service was fast despite the number of people there. The decor is very nice and suits the pub well, plus the garden is lovely and spacious with a covered section and a range of seating types. Some are classic pub bench tables, some are wicker sofas with cushions and there's probably others I've forgotten. Will be going back there again without a doubt.
Pretty good pub that in the summer has a bouncy castle for the kids to play on. I personally really enjoy the nachos starters as they are big enough for me to eat as a main and really enjoyable. The main let down is the service as they are very slow and take forever but the food is usually worth the wait. Its best to go to the bar to order and don't wait for a waiter.
Lovely pub and beer garden, plenty of vegan options for a bite to eat which is great. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very decent pint of Guiness but some of the drinks are a bit on the pricey side id nearly say London prices. But besides that couldn't fault the place will definitely be back as its a nice spot to sit outside relax and enjoy a pint!
