Charming if you like your hotels tired, expensive and with service ranging from mediocre to bad. Rooms were uncomfortable and dated and facilities limited. I was also told to vacate the hall because apparently someone more important than me was walking through and could not be expected to risk offending their eyes by accidentally looking at me. So I waited outside in the blazing sun with my luggage for my taxi. All in all thoroughly disappointing and expensive. The surrounding area is ok though. Food is bad.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Petersham hotel in Richmond park with my mum and daughter, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. We stumbled upon this hidden gem in the afternoon and were immediately captivated by its charm and elegance.nnThe highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the traditional English afternoon tea. The cozy environment and picturesque view of the Thames River from our window seat made the experience even more special. As we indulged in the delectable treats and sipped on our tea, we couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail and the impeccable service provided by the staff.nnOne unique aspect of The Petersham hotel that caught our attention was the display of pictures of famous visitors along with the dates of their visits. It was fascinating to see the history and the stories behind the hotel's esteemed guests. It added an extra layer of intrigue and made us feel like a part of something truly special.nnThe overall ambiance of The Petersham hotel was warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a memorable afternoon. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was enjoyable.nnIf you're looking for a traditional English afternoon tea experience with a stunning view and a cozy environment, I highly recommend The Petersham hotel. It's a hidden oasis in Richmond park that will transport you to a world of elegance and indulgence.
Special birthday for my wife. We booked two connecting rooms for my wife and I, our daughter and grand daughter.nIt was superb, Staff were super friendly, the food was excellent and the location, close to Kew gardens was spot on.nOn the way home, a few hundred yards away was Richmond Park which we drove through. Lots of dear, every where, in groups of 20 or thirty. A nice end to a good weekend.
Stayed overnight here and the service was super friendly and efficient. Parking was easy and the location is amazing- walking distance to the main shops and the park. The room was clean and well stocked but the standard double room felt quite claustrophobic which ruined my sleep a bit. When I checked out, a lovely gentleman at reception offered me the room to shower in after my run which I really appreciated as well.
Incredible experience.nnI booked this hotel as a surprise for my family to show them a different side of London - something they’ve seen in movies like The Secret Garden.nnThe location is pretty epic. On a hill next to green fields and a footpath next to the Thames. Simply beautiful and peaceful.nnStepping into the hotel, you’re greeted by a gorgeous staircase that goes up to a painted ceiling. The reception staff were really helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious and the seating area and service was immaculate. The views from there were even better.nnOur hotel room was clean, cozy and relaxing.nnThe hotel is conveniently located adjacent to Richmond Park and right next to bus 65 that can take you to Kingston and then Hampton Court Palace or Ealing Broadway where you can catch the Tube or train elsewhere.nnI would stay here again given the chance.
