Stayed for 3 nights while walking the herriot Way in November great atmosphere lovely warm fires. Room was great comfortable bed nice shower. Breakfast very nice quick service good for getting away to walk lovely meal's in the bar on a night as had a dog with me. Staff all friendly and helpful very recommended
This pub is in a location that is magical ... overlooking the Dales in Reeth. Sitting next to the wood and coal fire in the pub, it is possible to imagine yourself travelling back in time. The building is 300 plus years old and thus rooms are relatively small, however everything was clean and comfy. Staff was business like and efficient. The food was good pub fare. It is a comfortable place to base yourself for a couple of days exploring the area.
Sorry did 1* review by mistake originally, loved this pub. Only came for drinks but it was a great pint, two amazing crackling fires, friendly and good atmosphere
Popped in for Sunday carvery and what a good choice it was. The staff are friendly and courteous. The food was lovely, and the gravy was amazing. Will definitely go again soon.
We called in on Monday night & had a couple of pints, the food looked delicious, so we returned on Tuesday lunchtime after our walk.nWe both had the pan fried gammon. egg, chips and salad from the specials board. The portions were huge, homemade chips were so tasty as was the gammon and salad. All washed down with a couple of pints of perfectly kept TT Landlord, other ales were available.nThe staff were very friendly and efficient, the loos were very clean and tidy and dogs were welcome. Food prices were cheaper than those local to us & other parts of North Yorks.nWe hope to return soon to stay.
