What a fabulous find. We arrived slightly early for our table and enjoyed a drink at the bar. Bar man was very helpful and friendly, very relaxed atmosphere from the word go. On to the main event! Wow, we ate starter, mains and dessert. All totally outstanding. We ordered the Bone in Rib for two, a special celebration meal, so pushed the boat out. And for once we got rare, it is so rare (no pun intended) to ask for rare and actually get it in a Restaurant. we rarely order steak for that reason. We had excellent service throughout and a lovely bottle of wine from the well thought out wine list. The food menu is quite short and in my view well considered and I'd rather this than a menu that goes on for miles. A concise menu shows a Restaurant that knows what it is and isn't taking a scatter gun approach to getting clientele. Would definitely recommend the Ox. They also run events, the next being a Gin evening at the end of June.

I’m so glad that I tried this place and managed to get in, even on a Tuesday evening it was very busy! Steak was exceptional quality and the veg accompaniments spot on, I would recommend the charcoaled mushrooms. The price reflects the quality
