One of a few places that we always visit when in Cornwall as the food and service has always been great and this time didn't disappoint either. Very dog friendly which is great but also offers seating in an area if you didn't have a dog. Parking is limited outside but plenty of spaces on the village hall car park just a short walk away. We parked there and walked with a dog and a pushchair.
I had a pleasant time at The Old Albion Inn. I personally had the Albion burger refer to the pictures and I enjoyed this burger. Cooked to my liking. I also had requested to have no relish and they got my order perfect. The chips were phenomenal. 2 Others in the group had the beef brisket which they said was okay, nothing special. The potatoes weren’t as described on the menu, it just tasted more like a roast dinner. My partner had the vegan South Indian curry but with chips instead of rice. She really liked it. However it wasn’t served with a tablespoon which I had to go and ask for but that isn’t a problem.
The food took over an hour to arrive. 10 out of 10 for presentation 3 out of 10 for taste. Rubbery cold cheese on a rubbery cold burger in a burnt bun and cold old chips ! I didn't complain as the place was packed and it wasn't the waiters fault !
Stayed in Crantock for a wk and popped in to the old Albion on the off chance of lunch however no food on a Monday but did have a slice of cake instead. Large slice of Victoria sandwich and big chunk of millionaires shortbread. Both good with friendly service. Went back on Wednesday for their curry night which was really good and friendly service again. Vietnamese pork & chicken curry both with rice & fresh poppadom. Very dog friendly with plenty of room
Crantock, Cornwall. Great village and beach. Good for surfing. Good at Cornishman excellent. Church lovely and everyone welcome to attend services. 20th consecutive year of visiting. Cannot get bored of the place. Love it.
Lovely old pub with great hot chocolates and food.
Lovely meal on Easter Monday with my family including two dogs. We enjoyed our food. I liked that the sausage and mash was accompanied by nice tasty vegetables. Great lunch, friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Thank you.
Just popped in for drinks with the family, which can sometimes be an issue in pubs serving food, but were made to feel very welcome and stayed for an extra round. Food looked good and beer choice was decent. Dog friendly inside and outside, unlike the Bowgie Inn and has a real bar with real people serving you unlike the Bowgie! Location is perfect.
Traveling From a little village in south wales Spent a fabulous week in crantock with my family used this lovely old pub a few times for food and a drink staff was amazing the food was stunning and a nice pint highly recommend
Stayed at Crantock for a week with the family over the Christmas/New Year period and what a beautiful little village it is. Came across this beaut of a pub. Great atmosphere, dog friendly, amazing food and drinks and very kind and helpful staff! The service was spot on. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning on our next visit to Cornwall. Rachel South Wales
