The Oakley
"The Oakley Arms sits on the outskirts of Brewood but is a pub well within the hearts of the locals who drop by on horseback or bicycle or along with their dogs during country rambles. We are lucky enough to have the most fabulous lake which can be seen from many rooms within the pub and is flanked by our stone terrace which is the most wonderful place to dine on sunny days. We like to think of ourselves as a charming pub with well-spaced rooms with wooden floors and roaring fires, a well-stocked bar at the centre of all things and a beautiful garden room filled with light. Our menus have their roots in modern British cooking, with a hint of the more exotic about them."

We attended here for a family member's birthday. They had been previously and had wanted to return for celebrations. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was lovely and the starter and mains were hot and fresh. Pudding was great too. Would happily recommend and return. The outside area is very nice. Overall a great place.
So glad to find this gem of a pub. Beautiful little lake at the rear with terrace that looks like it would be perfect for a warm summers evening. The pub itself is a very good size, so don't be put off if the car park has loads of cars...there will most likely be plenty of room inside. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food is as good as it looks and I would love to try more at a later date, along with more of the extensive range of beers and wines. The only downside is that I live more than 100 miles away, but if ever in that neck of the woods again will certainly make a B line for it.
Booked a table for a late lunch. First impressions very good. There is a large car park and the pub is nicely decorated consisting of several different rooms some with very large tables suitable for larger groups/families. Outside is some sort of pond with seating and it is very peaceful and pretty. I imagine it’s lovely in summer. On a slightly negative note, we ordered two lemonades which had no lemonade in them I assume the syrup had run out. This was put right as soon as we could get the attention of a staff member but was a bit annoying. Secondly, the food took ages to arrive. I don’t have a problem waiting for freshly cooked food and it was quite busy. However, I would guess it took around 40 minutes. It would have been nice if staff could have explained when we ordered or updated us to give us some indication of the delay. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a deal breaker. My food was very very nice. I had the steak, ale and mushroom pie and it was filled to the top and the pastry was delicious. Very nicely presented too. The staff we encountered were very friendly and I would definitely return for a special occasion. Probably not the place if you want a quick bite, but time should be allowed to appreciate the location.
What a beautiful, cosy, friendly, place with amazing food. The katsu curry is the best I've ever had. The coffee is excellent too. The staff are fantastic, the food and drink choices superb, and the whole place encourages you to stay and relax. Overall a wonderful example of the kind of pub Britain does best.
What a place, we went here for a belated birthday meal, and I'm so glad we did. First-time visitors and it won't be our last. 3 of us went for the roast, and the other sausage and mash, but before we devoured them, it was starters. Crispy squid and sautéed wild mushrooms, delicious. Followed up with a dessert, toasted waffle, Nutella filled doughnuts, and a Toffee apple tart. Service was superb, considering it was busy, the food came quick and hot, and it was always served with a smile. All in all, a fantastic meal. TOP NOTCH
Drove past last week but had already eaten so came today and wow the place is beautiful and food was just as good, staff were brilliant especially the 2 gentleman running the bar area for lunch, wish I lived closer i would love to work in a place like this!
The setting is absolutely beautiful and nothing too much for the staff. Food come out quickly and was hot and very tasty. I can't stop raving about this place and I will definitely be coming back - it's worth every penny!
The Oakley Arms is a Great Pub/Restaurant to visit with family and friends. The food, in my opinion, is great. We had the braised lamb shoulder, Beer Battered Fish and Chips and ths Smoked haddock fishcake all highly recommend. Everything was cooked perfectly. We also had the Triple Chocolate Brownie with a cappuccino, sticky toffy pudding and vanilla sponge syrup. The service was quick and ecellent. The staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this pub. 10 out of 10 Rating
Lovely pub for scenery with a beautiful beer garden with a pond in. Inside is lovely too. Staff really friendly and helpful. However there was only one vegetarian option on the whole entire menu which isn't great. Otherwise would be five stars.
Brilliant hidden gem of a pub. Great place to have lunch overlooking the water.
