One of the best restaurants I have been to. Opted for set menu for 2 people, loved each and every dish. Wonderfully presented and tasted even better. Surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant when we walked in on a Thursday afternoon. Highly recommended in Chelmsford. Cheers.Food: 5/5

We went here as a couple for an anniversary based on other food reports.  The weather was fine so we had a pre dinner drink in the front area. When our table was ready we were seated and there were only 2 tables occupied,  however this soon changed as more diners arrived and atmosphere improved.  At first we thought the portions a bit small but they were   really tasty and filling. Drinks were a bit on the pricey side 12.00 per 250ml Red wine but overall the experience was very good. Parking in the area can be a problem but there are car parks within a few minutes walk.

Really enjoyed lunch at the New London in Chelmsford today. We had the chateaubriand which is always excellent but they also have a good plant-based menu. Presentation was very sharp as seen in the photos.Food: 5/5

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a little while having seen that it recently been modernised. So as we were meeting friends on Saturday this seemed like an ideal opportunity as Chelmsford is in between where we all live. Set on the outskirts of the town and just a 15 minute stroll from the station in a peaceful part of the town. As we entered we could here a lot of noise the reason being they do a Bottomless Prosecco Lunch deal on a Saturday. I can honestly say that if there was just the two of us I would have apologised but left straight away. But there was four of us so in we went and as it happened by the time we got to our mains the majority had left. Now on to the lunch itself where the food was good as was the service. We started with the white crab meat , the roasted pigeon & the smoked mackerel with a Crispy Hens Egg which were very nicely cooked and presented although the crab meat starter did seem quite small We then moved onto our mains the Maple Pork Loin , the pan fried Chalkstream Trout while two of us had the Roast Lamb Rump together with sides of Truffle Fat Chips & vegetables. All dishes were very good and again nicely cooked and presented Before dessert we decided to share a cheese course which consisted of 8 cheeses from around Britain & Ireland together with crackers , grapes & chutney Now it time to finish with desserts they had a choice of 5 so we decided to order them all a milk chocolate iced parfait , clotted cream pannacotta , the hot ginger cake , lemon drizzle cake & the chocolate fondant which did have a slight issue as it came with a basil sorbet that was quite strong. We informed the waiter who said it was something new that the chef was trying therefore thanked us for our feedback This brought to an end a very nice lunch to which we all enjoyed. If I was to return and as their open all day on Saturday it would be in the afternoon or an evening. But if your a group and a Prosecco Lunch is for you then this a nice restaurant for that as the food and service is good

Still very good....Really good food...very reasonably priced. I really liked this place and will definitely return. ...how have I not been here before... I would have given 5 stars if there had been a larger choice of wines by the glass Yet again another excellent night out. Staff where very good..5 people on a Tuesday night and everyone had a great meal...i really like this place

Had the bottomless Prosecco lunch with friends. The fillet steak is always excellent. Fantastic meal and plenty to drinkFood: 5/5

Wow Sunday lunch was fantastic had the beetroot and blue cheese to start  followed by the pork loin with all the trimmings finished with an apple and rhubarb crumble Washed down with a lovely cold bottle of white sancerre Highly recommend  this place will definitely be back to try the a la carte menu looks amazing

Lovely ambience, tasty food, portion small, a bit pricey. But overall very nice place.  Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian menu.

Decor was lovely. Welcome was also great. Shame about the poor service that followed;  having to keep getting up to chase items. Clear our plates, ask for butter, etc. Cheese board was the saddest I've seen for quite some time, it actually made me laugh. The roast looked spot on when it came out, the carrots and kale were great, but everything else was, bland, unseasoned, cool temperatures, the potatoes were earthy and hard. Staff were terse, congregating around the bar instead of serving. Booking noted it was a birthday meal. Not even wished a happy birthday. Thanks guys. Don't bother. They didn't.
