The Nelson Museum in Monmouth is a free to enter museum holding a collection of Nelson memorabilia. This was possible because of Lady Llangattock donating her collection to the town. She was a Victorian with lots of money who collected anything to do with Nelson. Some of it is literally souvenirs like jugs with his name on just like today’s collectors. However it also contains a huge collections of documents and unique personal items of which only a fraction is on display. A good place to visit for an hour or so if you are a Nelson fan.

In the middle of Monmouth this museum is a great find. Free to enter. Well kept & available for hire. I often sit outside on the benches & watch the world go by. But have been inside & learnt a bit about the chartist riots court case
