Fantastic store with the quality of outstanding produce you should expect.nExcellent staff, free parking for two hours.nIt has a cafe inside with a good menu.nDisabled access throughout is great too.nDisabled parking by main entrance.nI highly recommend this store.
Been shopping here for 3 years and becoming less and less motivated to shop here. I’ve witnessed some obvious differences in how customers are treated based on their physical appearance.nnIt feels more and more like we’re paying a premium to be treated poorly. I see far better, equal customer service from Lidl and M&S.nnIt appears that if a customer happens to know the till staff, everyone else has to wait 5-10 for them to finish their conversation. However if a customer doesn’t know the staff, they’re rushed and talked to in an unacceptable manner. In the event they’re not talked down to, it appears as if no pleasantries are exchanged at all.nnIt always gets worse around Christmas and I accept customers are probably not pleasant to staff this time of year adding to the environment. However, it ends up just being a cycle is staff are behaving in kind. Especially to customers who appear easy targets. I worked for Waitrose for nearly 10 years, so I know how horrendous Christmas can be. However, at the branch I worked out, you’d have been dragged into the branch managers office for treating customers and children in the way that some Monmouth staff think is acceptable.nnToday wasn’t the first experience I’ve witnessed or experienced. But the final straw is when staff talk to my children in unacceptable ways.
What a shambles, full of posh stuck up locals with their condescending looks of disgust toward the working class. Absolute carnage inside the store, what a mess of a shop... the only saving grace is that fags are 6 quid cheaper than the garage across the road.
I visited this store twice during my trip to Monmouth & I really liked this one !! The front entrance was a bit walk to get to ,meaning it wasn't facing the street .About 15 seconds to get around to .It was right across from the Monmouth bis stop ! Very easy to spot it !! It's got a bathroom at the front right before you go in the store on the left hand side & they had 3 ,or 4 stolls & clean ! One of sinks was out of order. Waitrose is definitely the best supermarket to buy organic produces !! I bought a pack of organic blueberries at £ 2.50& raspberry at £ 2.75 there which were delicious / fresh ,no mold at all which is hard to find ! I ate 'em in two days !! So~ good !! I also had my cream tea at their Cafe inside £3.75 total.£2.10 for a pot of tea & 1 scone w/ butter & jam for £1.65 which was good & reasonably priced ! But a bit harder than real good fresh, soft scones !! The ladies working there were very friendly !! A very clean cafe !! I saw an elderly couple who tried to give one of 'em a tip which she very kindly / politely declined .It was very sweet to witness !! I also bought several shopping bags of Waitrose !! For souvenirs ! One was only 50 p ea !! ,in mid green ,very nicely designed & prints on the one is classy !! Great one to pick as a souvenir as it's ultra light & won't take spaces to pack !! My mom & sis loved it !! Also got a 1 mid size bag w/ insulation inside ,again very nice prints green stripes ,it was only £ 3.50 ,or less !! As well as 1 large organic cotton bag for £6 !! All are great souvenirs !!
Obviously a bad day for the Monmouth branch today, with short deliveries and several empty sections, but being a Friday made things difficult for weekly shoppers. Have to say that this is unusual - hope for a speedy return to the normal 5 stars!
