The Royal Academy of Arts is a great institution and definitely one of the best art galleries in the UK. Most of the exhibitions are not free but they are definitely worth it – they are world-class exhibitions, the perfect example was the ‘Charles I: King and Collector’ the and the summer exhibition is just exceptional. The exhibitions tend to get a bit busy; however, try to go early in the morning to avoid all the crowds. The building is also a work of art and located in the heart of London to access other great parts of town.

Great exhibition, I am sure, if one can see past the crowds. We had the misfortune to book the date and time the Queen was there and, although we had previous warning of an “event” and that we might be delayed, I do wonder if the number of visitors was reduced to allow for this. We postponed our visit to the afternoon, and it was far too crowded to take in the pictures properly, and we were disappointed. Our 2-day stay in London was planned round visiting this exhibition and we could not change our plans at short notice.

A fantastic exhibition ! I saw the Charles I King and Collector exhibition and it was very well done and put together. I am by no means an art academic but I was very impressed. The Royal Academy itself is a very impressive building

Fascinating building and great exhibitions but it is normally too overcrowded; especially considering the entry fee is a bit high.

The lecture about women and art MODELS AND MILITANTS was accessible for me as a deaf person as both live subtitler and a BSL interpreting lady provided all the words for us. Well done RA. !
