Came to watch the France vs Belgium football game last week. Lovely layout of the pub with plenty of plants. Game was playing but no sound only music playing. Not sure it's a place to watch the football but a nice place to catch relax and catch up with people. Has outside table out the front and down the side of the building along a quiet Rd.
Decent pub - very average beer choice which is a shame - you can do way more interesting. 4 stars because Whole Beast are excellent, the deep fried squash pie was the highlight...and I'm a meat-lover.
Come here for a pub quiz occasionally on Wednesdays. Drinks are served differently depending on the person making them so you're likely not going to have consistency when ordering cocktails. Food is decent although not a fan of the wings and the sauce on them.Food: 4/5
Best pub in London and conveniently we live very close. Loads of activities if you’re looking for that - jazz Sundays, pub quiz Wednesdays. Great beers on tap and you can normally always sneak a space. Outside is perfect in the summer and the inside is so cosy come winter
Firstly the food from whole beast was absolutely excellent, one of the best burgers I've ever had and the sauce on the chicken wings was insane. The service behind the bar however. Holy moly it was painful. It really wasn't that busy, there were empty tables, but I stood at the bar for far too long. Staff seemed on another planet, dazed and confused, incredibly slow, would rather be any where else. Heard great things about this place but that's probably gone to the staffs head and frankly it was embarrassing.
Really amazing food. Had fantastic Sunday lunch - roast and amazing mussel starter but… Would have given five stars but the loos need some bleach. Urgently….
I’ve been going to the Montpellier for over a year and I can definitely say the service has gone downhill. They usually have 4-5 people behind the bar at busy periods and they all act as though they’re watching TV in their living rooms. They are the slowest serving bartenders I’ve ever seen and they have no awareness of who has been waiting at the bar for a long time, allowing desperate customers to cut in. The food is good and the place itself is very nice but we have decided to stop going there as service is excruciating to say the least.
The Sunday roast here is excellent - tasty, cooked well with great incredients. The service is friendly and impeccable. The only minus are the toilets - quite smelly, dirty and let down the rest of the pub experience.
The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had, having tried lots of top spots around London over the years. Absolutely banging!Food: 5/5
Absolutely love this local pub, with a cracking selection on tap and a mean Sunday roast. The outdoor area has also been revamped since the onset of the pandemic to ensure this remains a year-round favourite. Bonus points for having non-alcoholic beer on draught!
