The accommodation was superb. I stayed in a deluxe room all rooms are located in the converted barn next to the pub. The room was spacious with a large double bed and good quality pillows, and a duvet. There was another, smaller room, where the wardrobe, desk and coffee facilities were located. Side note – I stayed two days, and two bottles of complimentary water were replenished on the second day. The bathroom was huge. The heated towel rack was working great, and the water pressure in the shower was spot on. The shower cabin was not leaking! This is usually the issue in hotels where after taking a shower, you step in into a puddle of water. Not at the Bartons! The WiFi was working well. The breakfast selection was limited, but the quality of the food full English breakfast was superb. A fantastic place overall. Thank you
I stayed in rm 2 with my mam. We were thrilled with the room. Clean, not cluttered, fresh and very warm. The bathroom was very spacious. From check in to check out all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The price for bed and breakfast was well worth it. Will definitely return.
It's a beautiful setting and really worth seeing. We just felt a bit put off by the staff and the food. On arriving at the bar, two members of staff were chatting and didn't acknowledge us for a while which felt a bit awkward, and the waiter was a little bit quiet and distant. The food was surprisingly basic but this wouldn't put us off coming back, we would just order different things. Might've been an off day and for the setting alone, we'll definitely be back for hopefully a better experience. Parking: Plenty of free parking in car park
Stumbled across this place and it is a hidden gem! Absolutely gorgeous food, lovely kind staff and such a cute atmosphere. There are some lovely walks near by so definitely worth a wonder. Thank you, for a lovely meal x
This was the first time we have ever dined out on Christmas Day and if I’m honest, I had some reservations. I worried that I would feel rushed and the quality of food wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Firstly, The restaurant itself looked so beautiful with the fire lit and all the decorations out. Our table looked lovely how do you do those Christmas tree napkins?!, and there was even a little gift for the children which was such a thoughtful touch. Then onto the service. Absolutely faultless. Considering the staff had given up their Christmas Day, they were all so happy and nothing was too much trouble. Then obviously the main event, the food! Just delicious. Soup was lovely and hot and perfectly seasoned, the Turkey was perfectly cooked and the portions were huge husband had to finish mine, lovely thick gravy too!! and brownie pudding was delicious. Best part though?! The kitchen was clean when we got home!!! After worrying about dining out for ages, it’s now going to be a new family tradition and we plan to spend our Christmas Day at Barton’s every year from now. Thank you. The Cripps Family
We had our company Christmas lunch at Bartons Mill. We had a lovely table by the fire and the food was delicious. Highly recommend. We had initial frustrations with the phone system not working to pay the deposit and the emails were also going into their spam. But once that was sorted we had a lovely experience. Helen
From start to finish, everything went without fault, and food requirements, handled well. The food was good and delivered to the table in a timely Manor and was hot. Its juts a shame, the portion sizes for Adult's and kids were huge. Doggies did well out of the meal also
We booked for Christmas day dinner at the pub. The food was excellent, and the service to, but we had to wait 50 minutes over our allocated time for our table to be ready. We didn't really mind as the atmosphere was lovely and we went to the bar and had a drink
I attended with my two friends and my two year old. We were late for our booking but the staff were very accommodating, we had a lovely spot so my toddler could run around a bit without bothering anyone else, and we had this whole issue with the vegetarian sausages which the staff were very polite about we were wrong! We just couldn’t tell the difference hehe. Restaurants with a child can be a nightmare sometimes but this was one of the most positive experiences I’ve had - thank you!
My friends and I had booked the Christmas party night on Fri 10th. We were put in a small room away from the other people celebrating, which we hadn't requested and it was absolutely freezing! We were actually given blankets halfway through the meal! The food was good but u don't expect to be freezing cold and an have an evening with no Christmas atmosphere ! We went home early to warm up!
